On the relatively breezy afternoon of September 12, 1948, at 1345 hrs the Indian Army HQ in Delhi sent a coded message to the Southern Command HQ in Pune. The message, a fateful “go ahead”, was about to change India’s history and geography forever. Within the next 16 hours, the Indian army had crossed into the state of Hyderabad.
After a five-day battle, the Indian tricolour was fluttering over the
erstwhile city of Nizams as Maj Gen El Edroos surrendered his
Hyderabad State Forces on September 18, eight kilometres
outside Hyderabad.
But how did His Exalted Highness the Nizam, once reputed to
be the richest man on earth, lose his 2-lakh square kilometre
kingdom nearly 15 months after he declared Hyderabad an
independent sovereign state? This is the story of Operation Polo.

I appreciate your presentation on Operation Polo, but I would like to bring it to your attention that ‘key aspects’ have been missed, from the Mountbatten plan to Hyderabad declaring its independence on 13 August, 1947; which was followed by the Standstill agreement and its violations, which resulted in Operation Polo; reason for being named Police action instead of Military action. Not to point out it was the Deccan Radio and The AIR.

Looks like soft on information. We were in India watching the news at that time. It was all VP Menon and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel who were the main players in the act besides the Army.

Traitor communities like Deshmukh, Patel’s and Brahmans and some reddy and Velma who sided with nizam while others were suffering. Later seeing change in power they changed sides. Even today political parties are of these communities only. Even some sikhs sent from Punjab helped nizam

Patel was the guy who wanted Kashmir to be given away to Pakistan - Nehru was the one who wanted both Hindu-majority Hyderabad rule by a Muslim monarch and Muslim-majority Kashmir ruled by a token Hindu king . And you want Patel to get credit.

@@VSV659 Patel conducted Hyderabad police action day not Nehru (yes Patel tried to negotiate with Jinnah so that he can get breathing space to deal with Hyderabad (coz himself wrote this in cabinet note) and Jinnah did a mistake by attacking Kashmir as he is in agreement signed with maharaja that he will not attack which Patel rejected to sign)…U can refer to RU-vid Sam Manekshaw himself said in cabinet meeting Patel over ride Nehru opinion and asked Sam manekshaw to attack Kashmir (where as Nehru was still thinking 🤔..Nehru has 0 judgemental skills as Nehru was Kashmiri pandit himself and he has huge partiality toward Shekh Abdulla (who is also Kashmir Muslim pandit caste)..lllSo Nehru because of his casteist and ethnic preference and Patel has no such sentiments…..just for your information Patel should have been PM of India because he got 13/15 PCC votes and Nehru got 0 votes because everyone in congress thought Nehru has zero dare and decisive mindset but Gandhi asked Patel to give up the president of INC post and instead write a letter supporting Nehru)…..(source auto biography of Maulana Azad the election convener)…..Even just 20 minutes Gandi death Patel was in Birla house and said to Gandhi he will resign as Home minister bcoz he felt Nehru is weak PM…But Gandhi made him to swear on his life that he will never abandon Nehru…but Gandhi died just 20 min after so Patel felt he is responsible for Gandhi death as he is wicked in promising which he intended to not keep….So he slowly got sick and kept his promise and died in 1950

@@nationalist7347read Hindu’s own archives before making a statement. Patel had no strategy for anything- he merely followed Nehru’s orders. And it is very popular in India to quote dead people denigrating dead leaders because the BJP wants to desperately rewrite history.
