This is fantastic. The ending to April ethereal is one of my favourite opeth moments and it sounds amazing on acoustic. Also, I didn’t realise there was a figure on the cover of this album wtf.
This is so cool. There are so many hidden gems like this one, here on RU-vid for Opeth covers. Nikola Cvetkovic's 2 piano Opeth albums are my personal favorites.
Wow! Outstanding job, @September Dirge! Marvelous cover! MAYH is my favorite concept album: a piece of fine and very complex art. I must admit that when I listened to "The Amen Corner", I shed some tears, mainly at the section from 27:00 to 28:21. What to say about the 27:43 section: "until now, we've shared the same aura, my ashes within your hand; my breath in the sepulcral mound, you that your light is my day, the final spark that blew life into me, the Demon of the Fall". Just too beautiful! Another brilliant passage is the section that begins at 32:47, from "Demon of the Fall". That sinister interlude from 33:04 to 33:31 is one remarkable moment. And, what to say about the outro of this song? Just one of the most beautiful things: from 34:05 to the end of the song is pure beauty. Great lyrics and nice cover of the vocals. Congrats!
Stunning, just bloody beautifully stunning! You my friend have some off the charts talent and luckily for the world, you are pointing it in such an amazing direction. Love it mate, thank you so much for this, love it!
MAYH is my fav album. I'd love to play as you do, I know some songs but with the distortion in the original soungs I couldn't grasp some sections. I felt like hearing the album for the first time again, so I couldn't thank you enough for recording this and put it on youtube. Great work!
only on the first track but this sounds fantastic so far edit: just finished and wow dude, this is amazing work. i LOVED the rendition of Epilogue you did, might like it more than the original
This showed up in my feed recently. I clicked out curiosity, not intending to listen to more than a couple minutes. Ended up listening to the whole thing and was blown away! Hearing the stripped down guitar parts this way really underlines how amazing the songwriting is, and you did a top-notch job of capturing the atmosphere that this album exudes. I'm off to listen to your rendition of Still Life now. Please tell me you're doing more of these. Fuckin' bravo dude.
Absolutely ingenious, the bass flute (?) and guitar, really nice harmony. This rendition is one of my favorite things to listen to. the composition of opeth, and the execution here is really good.
Honestly this is fucking superb work. This is a great album to begin with, and this is such a lovely way to appreciate the musicality of it. Thanks for putting the time into this.
The original album is a little too raw for my taste (especially the first 2 albums though), but this acoustic version showed me how well thought out the writing is here. Loving this version
Could you please do a acoustic rendition of the album ORCHID opeth first album please it would make me very happy and t would love to hear from you soon thanks
@kalvinstrange623 yeah i mean true. We can all have an opinion, though. Opeth will always remain my favorite band. Just not particular on those albums after, at all. And hey, sometimes that happens. But you never know all our taste change over time.
