Opeth - MY ARMS, YOUR HEARSE Album Review 

The trio of my arms, still life, blackwater is Opeth's golden age for sure. Morningrise is also a masterpiece but in a different way to these three albums.

My Arms Your Hearse is underrated, I think it's easily one of their strongest records, yet it took me such a long time to even find out that it actually existed.

Should I drop some Lucy and educate myself on Opeth? :P

You God Coverkiller. Keep these coming, I consider Still Life to be one of the greatest metal albums of all time.

In my personal opinion, My Arms, Your Hearse is the best Opeth album.

This video timeline doesn't make any sense. It was uploaded to RU-vid in 2010, the Album Released in 1998 ok, but the review was clearly recorded in 1989. Conclusion: CKN is a time traveler.

I think I fell in a coverkillernation rabbit hole

Based upon the albums that I've listened to fully by Opeth I'd give them this rating. 1) Orchid 2) Deliverance 3) My Arms Your Hearse 4) Damnation 5) Watershed 6) Blackwater Park 7) Ghost Reveries 8) Heritage < this album was actually a really good one too. It's hard to judge these on which one is best because in my opinion they're all really good but if I had to it'd be in this order I guess.. I've yet to listen to Pale Communion, Still life and Morning Rise all the way through.. What do you guys think? Decent rating or would you switch stuff around..?

Every band has a song or album that completely sum the band up. This is their record...their best album to date and most complete. Simply amazing...atmospheric and epic!!

@TheMrAdax thats awesome. i used to fall asleep to Still Life And Blackwater Park nightly for a year.... became a Opeth fan in early 00'..... best band ever.

I know it's quite unfair to glorify one Opeth album as their discography is chock full of masterpieces, in my humble opinion with My Arms, Your Hearse Opeth were at their absolute best --- especially in the vocals department and musical headspace. This used to be my least favourite out of the first five albums but has grown a hell lot on me ever since I began delving into and appreciating more extreme sub-genres of metal, it has that timeless quality and is so full of life that now I'm worried that I might end up developing a serious sonic addiction to it. To me, it beats Still Life by a whisker.

Daudi Baldrs and Hildskjalf from Burzum had unspoken lyrics or text. Of course, those aren't metal albums, but I figured they would apply.

My Arms, Your Hearse is definitely a concept album. Why would anyone even debate that?
