Tim your videos really help. I'm an alcoholic and for some reason I'll get PAWS bad on day 14 and day 30. I feel like I NEED a drink around those times. Definitely eating clean helps. "Motivation is BS". I like that. I live in Salt Lake City, Utah and there's nothing out here that's as informative about addiction as your channel. I didn't learn about PAWS until I went to jail.

The thing is it’s totally different coming off methadone , I was taken off 120 mg/ml in the Maudsley with Lofexadine and I came out on the 6th of October and I was still very ill at Xmas and I was surrounded by people who were still on it and on New Year’s Eve 1999 I broke

Hey, Tim. I'm 80 days quit smoking and drinking! Also, recording videos so I don't relapse. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Hi Tim Your channel is such an inspiration to me even though I don't have alcohol or drug problems (seen too much of that in the family) but it's never give up, Carpe Diem attitude really helps me with my ME/Fibromyalgia. On the subject of medically prescribed opiates, I had a collapse at Xmas and had to go to A&E. The upshot was that all they could do was to offer me opiates which I declined. It defies all logic that at one end of the system they are treating people for opiate addiction and at the other end offering opiates as a temporary solution to chronic pain without diagnosing what causes that pain. Arse and elbow are two words which come to mind!😓

Totally agree David , it’s a temporary solution to a problem, which then goes on to cause an even greater problem. It’s getting worse I’m afraid, big pharmaceutical companies have great power and influence and there is much money to be made for them ! Hospitals are under so much pressure to get people in and out quickly, opiates are prescribed routinely and can quickly become a big problem to those that are vulnerable. Hope you’re feeling better now 🙏🏼 Carpe Diem my friend!

I have relapsed before due to PAWS. It took me off guard. I’m now on a medicated assisted treatment for tramadol addiction and I have also managed to stop taking gabapenton after a 10 year addiction to that. I have found the gabapenton the hardest one to kick. I love your videos and they have helped so much with my own recovery. 🙏

Addictions can be anything. The internet is an addiction and when it stops suddenly it can be painful. It's mostly because addiction serves a purpose to distract you from what is really the problem. I have been addicted to many things during my life and put many behind me and have more to overcome. Whatever you put your focus on is getting bigger. Trying to overcome makes overcoming the new obstacle in front of you. A thankfulness journal makes your focus all that is going well and went well already. What you call yourself is your identity and words are power. Names have power and when a name is spoken the power in its meaning is created. If your body is fat and you focus on trying to make it shrink, your fat will shrink and grow over and over because your focus reinforces its power over you. Tim means one who honors God. John means God is gracious, and Johnson is son of John. Most 12 step use a higher power and mine is to focus on how much God loves me and prays and sings over me and believes in me to come to him trusting he will lead me and restore me all things lost or stolen as I rest in his care. Blessings to you friend.

Opiods change the chemistry in the brain and it destroys the place in the brain that regulates stress. When i quit tramadol 1 of March 2019 i got sicker by the month after 5 months i was suicidal and by then i finally got help. I have no idea how i survived those 5 months after going cold turkey after over 15 years hardest thing i have ever and still struggles with today but i got subotex to cope in the end and now im tapering them out too
