Around the time this was aired, there was a spate of home invasions on Long Island by MS-13 and other gangs. Ant's behavior was anything but irrational at this specific time.

I love that I do not need to rely on someone else to protect my loved ones and myself. Not cops fault but they can't be everywhere and maybe you can't even get to phone because sometimes things happen fast . I rather get my kid out of trouble and if shooting a scumbag that's in my house is what it takes I will do it . Even if I had to go to jail as long as my daughter is safe I am Good with it but I would never shoot someone without good reason
I Feel Anthony on this one. I stay armed until I go to bed and even then it's close by. God Bless America and Freedom! Another thing is is if you train properly with a firearm you should have it on you all the time that is how you exercise gun safety and responsible carrying.
grimey 5.56 only small bits and parts of America are actually free and even that “freedom” is highly regulated and taxed. Try living in California or New York. Freedom is scarce in those parts.

I don't get Opies big anti gun stand. Does it bother you with Ant wanting to protect himself? You should feel so lucky that the states have such lax gun laws. Canada has such strict laws it's insane, but i still keep a gun around just incase, even though im going to jail for sure if i have to use it.
There was a doctor somewhere, he had a wife and two pretty daughters. Two guys got in his house, raped and killed his wife and daughters and set the house on fire. The doctor somehow survived by crawling out even though he was tied up. Wish he had a gun on him.
@silantbill It doesn't sound like he himself is satisfied with the precautions he is taking. He sounds as paranoid as ever even with his precautions that have a pretty simple solution.
@silantbill His paranoia of a home invasion was a theme throughout the show, not referring to this one conversation. He would go into detail about all the fail safes he has to prevent a home invasion when in reality just living in a gated community solved the problem he toiled over for years even prior to purchasing the home. Which prompted me to ask the question. If you followed the theme its clear his paranoia of a home invasion prompted many compulsions that show signs of OCD. Then again it is likely also just greatly exaggerated for radio.
Anthony is just like most other gun owners. He should admit it, he's absolutely terrified of other human beings. He's scared. He's not the tough guy he pretends to be but actually a coward.

I'm saying he's a coward because he has an irrational fear of people, enough of a fear that he has to have dozens of guns all around his house in every room plus a retreat position and secret hiding places. He admits himself he's terrified of home invasion so why you're arguing with me is mystery. He and anyone like him are cowardly.

@@street8651 Lol people get hit by lightning too, but most people dont make preparations against it. Ant seems to think that some kind of Mad Max, Red Dawn scenario is coming. The guy has an entire arsenal hidden around his house. The chances of getting 'tied up and executed' are about the same as being in a plane crash.

Because I've got more chance of being hit by a bus. Clearly you spend your time cowering in fear. Its the equivelent of someone driving a tank because they're afraid of being in a road accident. Although let me guess you dont have a fire extinguisher in every room even though thats a far more likely scenario? But then you dont get to feel like a 'big man' holding one of them do you?
