When I was 18 I worked the graveyard shift at a paper mill COUNTING sheets of paper and putting them in stacks of hundreds. The sad thing was there was about five other people, much older than me, who had been doing the exact same thing for who knows how many years. One day I asked the lady next to me "what are you thinking about?" She looked at me like I was crazy and said "nothing, my next break I guess." I quit that day.
@@SegaGentleman holy shit I forgot all about this comment. Here's a little sidenote to the story. One day I came up with an idea to measure with a precise ruler how tall a stack of 100 sheets was. I tested it and when I was sure I had the right method I told my supervisor about it and showed him it worked, and we could make more stacks in a day. He just shook his head and was like "do it the way we told you." I was like "but it WORKS." He didn't care. Now, I don't blame him for rejecting my idea. The old way worked and that was enough. But the net result, the final effect it had on me was to just squash any creative or innovative impulse I might have. To just follow your orders. I don't have a point to this story. It's just a sidenote. Peace.

The measuring method is way better especially if you tested it. Whenever i work landscaping or something that is manual, i always wish i could go back to an office job. But now i remember how BORRRRRING it is to work in a file room. I cant even think of a job ive had that was as kind numbing as counting stacks of paper by the hundreds.. I DID used to have crazy daydreams when i worked at waffle house 3rd shift as a cook during weekdays.. During those boring shifts, I was a 167 time wwf champion.....in my mind lol

I used to daydream about being a soldier and fighting in world War 3 and winning medals being a hero and saving people marching through towns with women throwing themselves at me while I put chicken into boxes at Popeyes

I used to work on a chicken farm and sometimes my job required me to stand on a little stool and watch eggs go by on this conveyer belt and check eggs if they're broken. Well I did this for 10 hours straight on sundays and so I'd be sitting there imagining I was the asian version of The Punisher just the samurai version of it. Had the whole back story too. Was a police officer that went under cover and everything went wrong and some dude kills my family because of it. I was ex military special forces but because Japan has been without a military for so many years I had to rationalize how would this occur if this is set in japan then I realized that we can say I was Yakuza turned good guy and go from there. Haha It was the weirdest shit.
i used to do this when i was a night security guard in college.. old warehouses and construction sites.. i used to pretend they were building secret government projects there.. weird shit like that.. definitely makes the time pass by.

I was a dirty, almost penniless, whiskey drinking, silent cowboy wandering around muddy western towns, constantly getting into gunfights w/ assholes, ending up with about 1000 notches on my belt, all justified.
I used to have one when I was like 12 or 13 where I had this red button on my chest that, when pressed, would turn me into a giant mutant T-Rex. Then, I would go around the world tracking down this international terrorist cell and each of their member’s had the same ability so it was just international giant dinosaur battles. Kick ass day dreaming sessions
So fucking true...i have the exact same hilarious daydreams about me beeing the super bad ass guy, down to the detail, while doing painfully boring 8 hour idiot work.
When I was in college i was a pool boy and I would day dream that I was the rich dude who owned all those million dollar houses and I was just there checking on my properties.
At a lot of my jobs I used to always pretend like I was in a VR video game to get past the fact I was doing meaningless jobs, I would imagine instead of cutting deli meats I was a butcher at some alien market, instead of making deliveries bagels or newspapers I was in a gta type game working for mob boss, or instead of doing lawn care I was hunting alien creatures. I bring it up to people and they act like I’m crazy. This was a great clip and it’s Atleast nice to to know I’m not the only one
I do this same shit. I work in a bank, but more on the tech side. And its not as "spy-like" and exciting as you'd think. I have daydreams of being a protective armor clad anti-hero type vigilante at night. And like most folks in the comments here, I have the whole backstory and everything 😂 I image that the CEO of the company is just this secret protective armor clad night vigilante taking out terrorists and trafficking launderers. And for whatever reason, I meet him at a tech conference and he takes to me and takes me under his wing. until I figure it out and I become the vigilante and he becomes the old guy who is in my ear piece. Its literally the only way I can explain having access to all this cutting edge tech and armory, and explains why a zilch like me would go up against powerful international criminals haha!! I am glad that I am not the only one who does this.
Three of my coworkers and I sat in the work van for like 5 or 6 hours daydreaming about if the president was to be replaced by a suit. Like if darth vader was the president but no elections and you can never tell when the man in the suit is changed. I had another idea one day when i was working at the plant, where we send guys to the moon again but we find out as they are landing that the moon landing was really a hoax and we never went to the moon. So where did the astronauts land....?
I’m currently working a temp job processing death certificates and its the most repetitive job I’ve ever had - there’s literally nothing different in my day-to-day work life. So my daydream is that I’m this John McClane-type who saves his co-workers from high tech terrorists, and there’s this hot chick that I get after I kill all the terrorists and save everyone lmao
I worked for a whole summer out in all weather doing just one thing. Stabbing the ground with an iron pick till finding a rock, picking it up, getting rid of it and repeat. A whole summer doing just that and all on the same small area. Last week of the summer? Some dude comes with a machine and does it 100 times better and faster. The shittiest job in the world so yes i had to play things in my mind a lot. P.S. I'm a girl.
So, no dreams of you saving the world or doing something great? I remember when I worked as a apple picker I use to dream about a modern version of Gladiator. Where only through my martial skills in the arena could save earth from alien slavery. Or that I, like green lantern, was flying through the cosmos looking for a new planet that humans could live on before our sun went supernova. Come on, you most have had some good ones. ;)
I’ve had a similar daydream that involves aliens coming to earth and giving me technology to save the world, About 10 years ago I had a job that I hated it So I quit like three times but they would ask me to stay so I’d end up staying so one time after I went back to work I started daydreaming the same thing like I would always do and I actually started feeling really bad that I was gonna have to quit again so I could go safe the world. after I had just gotten back to work.😂

Well on my down time at work I used to day dream I was convicted of a crime I didn’t commit, a non violent crime. And in prison I wouldn’t follow the prison politics bullshit. So I had to fight all the prison gangs and I would never lose. It’s didn’t matter if it was 1 guy or 10 guys I would barely survive. Shits funny as hell.
