I got a Bot fly in my arm 3 yrs ago while looking at Mayan ruins in the far south of Mexico. About 2 weeks later, I was instructed to wrap a raw slab of steak around the periscope. Within a few hours, the bot fly burrowed upward into the piece of meat, and I threw the fucker into the fire.

+Matthew Herzog Well, for the most part, we're spoiled up here in the US. The botflies up here are equine parasites. Dermatobia Hominis (human bot fly) ranges from southern Mexico all the way down thru Uruguay. I had the displeasure of hosting one in my arm after coming back from Chiapas, Mexico, and never heard of em prior to that. On the plus side, I built up a tolerance to this kind of mental torture, and only winced maybe once or twice throughout this vid.
