I mean to be fair, if you lose your wife/husband, there's not really anything wrong with remarrying. My partner's grandmother lost her husband at an early age to cancer, around 30. She remarried to a man who had also lost his wife to cancer, simply because they did not want to spend the rest of their lives alone. Their hearts are still with their first partners, they will be buried with them too. It's not the same type of love that was felt from their first marriages, but it's a nice companionship they've created.❤️

Back in my retail days I had to endure an hour long conversation with a person who was born with both male and female genitals. They unloaded their inner turmoil and reasons for resenting their parents for choosing what gender they would be at birth. They told me how they purposefully identify as the opposite gender of what their parents chose as revenge for being "butchered". This all stemmed from me helping them find the mirror aisle.

I had spent 3 years in retail. The funniest and the weirdest experience I ever had was a lady coming at 7pm to get cigarettes telling me her bf gave her sti. She then roamed the store and proceed to try and steel a huge leg of lamb under her shirt. After telling her to put it down otherwise I’ll call police (the station is across road) she looked me dead in the eyes and said “Please don’t. I just got out of jail.”

Loved being a vet assistant and having owners try to guilt trip us out of charging them by telling us all the horrible things that have happened to them and why they are broke. Like damn im really sorry to hear that, credit or debit? 😭

I’m a tour guide at a historical landmark, and we have what’s called “the crying tunnel” which aside from simply being storage next to our break room, is our infamous cooldown area after dealing with rough tours, rude guests, or general life shit. I have utilized the crying tunnel many a time.

I work in retail and we have a a bunch of elderly people that the nearby assisted living place just drops off for hours so they get done with their shopping and stand around the entrance talking to anyone and everyone. The best was when a lady invited a couple of my coworkers and I to come to her house after our shifts to place bids on her belongings.

I've ran a vape shop for 9 years and the shit people tell me is wild. As a person with high anxiety, who cries a lot, I actually kinda agree and disagree with the crying at work thing. Sometimes work can be stressful, and if you need to take 5mins to have a quiet cry in order to get that out so you can function normally the rest of the day, then I say go for it. I don't know if it should be "normal" - as in, if it's happening every day/every other day, then maybe you should try to find a job that's less emotionally taxing, or take on less work if that's an option. But if it's only every now and then, just to get your emotions in check, then that's perfectly ok. I don't think it should be so normalised in the corporate culture to be under so much stress that you have to have mini breakdowns every day just to get through it. But sometimes anxiety just happens, and a small cry in the bathroom does help to relieve some of the emotional pressure.

is that one poster naming Cory because he called out RU-vid for its blatant racism? how far up your own ass do you have to be to witness that and say, “he’s really whining about this?” that little addition made me so upset. he also was not speaking for just himself, he was not talking about just his experience. he was speaking for a number of creators who have faced more difficulty with the algorithm and RU-vid simply because they are not white. in calling out the site for its racism, he’s speaking up for the ‘smaller, average’ creators you say that wasn’t about. also - not only is Cory completely justified on speaking up, but he’s also one of the most genuine, humble successful creators on this site. he has always expressed so much gratitude for his audience, I mean he disappeared for almost a year and came back with more subscribers than before. to put him under this label of whiny and ungrateful is beyond off base, and one of the worst examples he could’ve given.

As a mother of three, it truly is a highlight of my day when I go out and someone working where I’m at asks how my day is going. As a retail worker for going on 6 years, though, I know to just reply “Good, thank you for asking!” Or even ask them how their day is going in return. I won’t suck them into a vortex of conversation, ain’t nobody in Winn-Dixie getting paid enough for alla dat.

I work at Walgreens and when people type in their number we are supposed to read the name on the account and confirm its the right account. Frequently husbands use their wife's phone number because she has the rewards account so its not uncommon for me to see a female name and have guy checking out. So I asked this guy checking out, "Is the account under Mary?" and his face goes blank and he says "Oh. Ya its my wife's account. She died a few months ago." and i was like uhhhh and said "im so sorry for your loss." and there was just silence for the rest of the transaction and after that I stopped asking people to confirm the name of the account idc if I get yelled at by my boss i have never felt like a worse person than in that moment

as a retail worker (i work in a bakery) i have spent many 15 minute phone calls with 80 year olds telling me everything about their lives and they’re very sweet but i have so much other shit to do and i don’t honestly have the brain capacity to listen

It is literally retail therapy the stuff people will tell you...this one woman around Christmas time told me she was buying a lot of gifts that year because it marked the 1 year anniversary of her sister and niece tragically dying in a car accident that caught on fire because it hit a gas tank truck. She said that people could hear her niece screaming for help but the fire was so bad no one could save her. So incredibly heartbreaking and I still think about it a lot.

Until some lady started telling me her whole life story, something about her friend dying in a car accident recently only to find her husband dead at home, which the friend had killed him. That's all I caught because I was new to the job and trying to focus on doing my first return. I clocked out what she was saying, making noises every now and again to make her think I was listening, but damn did she have A LOT to say. It made me feel like a therapist. If someone owns a pet and is able to spend $15k on their medical bills, that's none of your goddamn business. And euthanizing an otherwise perfectly healthy animal, especially a young animal, because they need $1k for surgery to fix a break, or because they have a chronic illness that will cost a lot over time, or even simply because they ate something that requires surgical removal is psychopathic behavior. Vets shouldn't even be allowed to euthanize animals for such reasons. Find someone else who can take the animal, find a shelter, start a go fund me, anything! And I'm willing to bet my life that people like that woman, who think they're above others because they understand that human lives come before animals, and how much that money could help someone, have never donated even close to $1k to people in need!

Since we’re sharing barista stories, one time a man came into the store and shit in our mop closet (I assume he thought our mop water was a toilet) then crossed the street and immediately dropped dead.

I work in a supermarket and I genuinely act like an NPC. I interact with my colleagues but any customer interaction is strictly speak when I'm spoken too. If they move the conversation over to anything other than the present moment I tell them I am due my break and leave immediately. My job already steals enough of my energy, I'm not letting the customers steal it too.

When I had a stressful job, I too cried like 1x week, but then I got a different job. And friends. And started exercising. And overall just improved my life so I wasn't breaking down.
