Pain is one of the most trying experiences of life. On the cellular level it is communicated via special neuronal pathways. On the molecular level, however, pain is communicated like any other sensation, via a set of electrical and chemical signals facilitated by complex molecular machinery. These signals can be modulated by opioids, causing us to feel less pain, or no pain at all. Learn how opioids activate the G-proteins which in turn interact with other proteins to edit the pain signal.

I am curious how to make such wonderful vedio. Does anybody know?

All molecular models are based on PDB structures. They are loaded into Chimera if structure editing is required or to create morph states. Models are then loaded into Molecular Maya (a plug-in for Autodesk Maya). Everything is then animated in Autodesk Maya and edited together in Adobe After Effects.

i was addicted to pain meds.. thanks to my doctor. Didn’t even want to help me get off, didn’t care. I used kratom to help get off pharmaceutical opiates then used cannabis to get off kratom. Worked like a charm.. now I used cannabinoids to help with my back pain.

@2.07 Why is voltage potential across the membrane lowered not raised by potassium ion transport ?

@@PeppoMusic Thanks for replying but that doesn't make it more understandable to me. I could believe the uploader has felt it necessary to simplify the process for youtube such that some of how it all happens gets omitted.

I wonder if the narrator meant that the voltage becomes less positive (lowered in the sense of going from +40 mV to -90 mV) once potassium exits the cell. Which is probably poor phrasing since voltage is a difference so that "lowering" is actually an increase in the electrical pressure difference between inside/outside and increases the magnitude of voltage (as you said, raises the voltage potential/hyperpolarizes the cell).
@chrisstradling2535
@chrisstradling2535 3 года назад
@@kingofliterature Yes, that could be it.
@joradcliffe565

@@chrisstradling2535 Yes the phrasing does appear inconsistent rather than wrong. To say the voltage potential within the neuron was lowered by potassium ion transport would have been clearer in my opinion.

I can't really imagine how scientists came to all this knowledge.. This is so incredible.. I wonder how naloxone can work when all receptors are already over held by for example morphine.. Maybe naloxone have some ability to somehow skip in instead of it? You know otherwise it would not be useful after but before the overdose..
