People with genuine chronic pain and genuine illness should not be denied opioids but opioids for addicts should not be supplied for the sake of safe use, it should be supplied to help people get clean. Opioid prescribed patients should never be taken off opioids without slow reduction.

People with chronic pain are suffering because doctors are afraid to prescribe legal prescription opioids. It’s people who chose to abuse, not people who were taking them responsibly. People with chronic pain do not get high. They just get some relief. People who don’t understand that have never had long standing continuous pain.
You are saying it’ll make it more easily accessible, but you’re not specifying what. Fentanyl won’t be more accessible than it is today, and nobody with a brain worth two cents would be lining up to buy that shit. Safer and cleaner opioids will be more accessible, which is better for the user because now they know what they are actually taking. And better for the paramedic or any other health care worker because when it comes to saving their life they will also have a higher chance of knowing what they took. You want to change the world so people aren’t killing themselves with shit maybe. Which I find honorable but ultimately naive. It’s going to happen if you ban things or not, all we can do currently is make it easier for them to use safer. Or go full on surveillance police state like China. Actually, that might also not work since they have their own drug problem. Alcohol is shit you can’t go without. Alcohol will kill you with a high dose or overuse. We have so many diseases related to alcohol. When prohibition for alcohol came, it curbed consumption for a short while before consumption went back up. Still people drink alcohol today and kill themselves and others (ie drunk driving) but lawmakers understand prohibition isn’t going to work. Same with all other substances. Simplest way to stop most people from using is giving them a healthy social life and something to care about. Which would be easier to solve if the potential tax dollars from all these substances were actually collected by the state, and not go into gangs’ hands.
Yet every weekend bars,clubs and even people at home are drinking and doing cocaine,heroin and meth. Its a persons personal habits that cause addiction. You dont say well today Im gonna do meth because its legal and get hooked and mess my whole life up. When you buy drugs from a street dealer who knows what you could be getting and what its cut with.
@@indiamitchell9833 you don’t need to get high to become an addict. Theres 2 components to addiction. 1 is psychological (chasing the dragon)2. is physical dependancy - this could be taking it to avoid the withdrawal.
