Ding did at least an 8 move calculation for mate, knowing the queen sacrifice would result in mate. Some of these GMs are some seriously gifted people.
Sometimes in short time controls you just ‘know’ there will be a mate through pattern recognition and really only a couple moves need to be ‘calculated’
That combination from Ding around 7:20 is AMAZING! Sagar also shared a video with some of Ding’s best games, and some of them were tactical massacres. I really like seeing this side of his game.
this is the same guy that magnus beat in the 2019 world rapid if I am not mistaken when he played the Scandinavian! cool guy and nice GM seems to be a very hard worker but not a lot ik about him really nice player and lets go ding!
the strategy of coming late and then crushing your opponent is only mastered by the very best, like Magnus and Rapport, but this dude forgot that you first have to adjust all the pieces while letting the clock run!
Technical question - if both white and black players fail to appear on time and arbiter starts the clock - the white time will run out. So does that mean black is awarded the win even if they don't show up?
@@MK-oj6hd ah, so assuming the first move is instantly, they give you the increment for that move in advance, and you hit the clock with 3’02”, makes sense! But why Black starts with 3’02” as well? Their 1st move doesn’t precede the clock. Shouldn’t it be 3’00”?
It was disrespectful to be that late but he probably thought he had no chance anyway, so he tried to bother Ding psychologically to get an edge. Ding swiftly showed him games like that won't work on him lol
PEOPLE: Magnus is an ASPIE. That's why he has his ritual with adjusting the pieces. That's why he's always late. It's not a strategy! It's just who he is! I should know, I am exactly the same. People trying to imitate this to get good are morons.
Dude I wish I could mute the coughing guy or like force-resign him. You are literally just trying to get most everyone in that room super sick like you. Should not have been allowed to play like that.
It wasn't. He doesn't even know what he's talking about "pawn shouldn't have stayed in the 8 th rank" What does this even mean? It was only on 8th rank for the one move when it took the rook which was obviously the right move and the resulting endgame was completely winning.
@@ex0duzz bro when you make a promotion, you push the pawn to 8th rank but don't let it stay there and promptly switch it to the new piece, in this case, rook, everyone knows this info if one participated to at least 1 tournament:(
A new strategy to win chess games at live, over the board chess tournaments is not using anal beads, but by coughing without a facemask into your hands, then touching the pieces to fully gross-out your opponents, distracting them, and making them think they are going to get Covid or Ebola.
Woman on board 4 keeps coughing into her hand incessantly and moving the pieces with the same hand. If I were on the other side of the board, concentration would be difficult. Her coughing and the spectre of acquiring her disease potentially affects the concentration of other players.
@@DensiBensi @27jp ...A last minute goose hanging to lower the pressure, is also an option. There are actually tons of reasons that would justify his late arrival.
Who are you to dictate what chess is? Its their time, if they feel the need to burn it let them, its not their concern about how the other player feels about them being late.
Accidents and other things happen. There are already rules, like the time starts and you are down on time. If you want to come late and play with one second, that's your choice since they can come and do the same thing anyway and waste all their time doing nothing if they want
