OK Adobe, where is my VR Photoshop? I've waited three years now for at least a demo. I thought maybe at 2015 Adobe Max but nothing there. I took a cinema4D class and the instructor said he was shocked to see so many people there and that last year it was a tenth of the number. Please wake up, VR is coming.

i would play a game with that kind of models in it. The concept of it is beyond any explanation of what beauty it can bring to a game. My wish now is to afford such headset and software. The art stunning the player as they dwell deeper into the story. There needs to be a game with this.

The problem is that converting a tilt brush painting into a printable 3d model isn't that easy... But programmers love to solve that kind of problems :D

I think it should be possible for a computer to automatically connect seperate pieces with a line between the closest points.

luke, it would have to automatically find a way to make it not hollow. it would probably send you to a website that would fill it in and ask if this is what you want (multiple models though

I tried Tilt Brush for the first time yesterday; it was so difficult to grasp making a 3D object with a 2D brush. I obviously need more practice.

This is cool. The program itself I think needs to be worked out a little better though. It looks difficult for polished finishes. If the canvas or map was bigger I think environmental/landscape paintings would be so much better to do in this. Walking around a miniature forest or mountains, lakes and so on. But this program hopefully is in its early stages and we'll see it become something so much more. Great work!

I feel like this is easier than drawing in 2D. In 2D with pencil and paper, you just kinda have to guess what each body part would look like from a certain perspective and what it would look like blocking another part, whereas this you get to see the whole thing and all its dimensions.

Agreed. Our minds work in 3D. I can't draw to save my life, but think I'd do ok with this. When I get my Vive I intend to paint a house around me. Or a garden with trees I can wander around while listening to some relaxing music. Very excited to get my hands on this.

This looks amazing! The thing that I'm most worried about is from what I've seen though you can paint in 3D but the brushstrokes are not in 3D. This makes it impossible to make a smooth round surface. If there was a sphere brush and a smooth tool I'd be satisfied.

don't worry, Kara. the strokes curve with the remote, even in 3d space. If you look at the sword from a side on view; you can see how it bows inward when she did a "straight" line. I'm too psyched for this.

The Stitch Yeah, but the _strokes_ are not 3D... I don't know how I could explain this. It's like if you were drawing on paper and the paper was bending, but the stroke itself was still as thin as the paper. This makes it so that you can see through her drawing because there's no way to cover up all the little holes. I'm still psyched for this, too, though. :D

most of the time when people paint, they don't paint any actual person or thing. It's usually just whatever comes to mind and you let the abstract thought flow through you and onto your medium. She probably just felt like drawing a random angel person.

+Mrityunjay Bhardwaj It's a feature called "Lighthouse" There are 2 boxes you set up in the room that emit light(lasers), The headset uses that light to position you in the room.

+Dragongard I suppose that laying down thing needs to work in the form of a square, and there I run into a problem. I'm 90% sure that over the next 10 years I won't be able to ever get myself a VR set up, but if I do I know that I'll go with the one that is best at warning you that you're about to kiss the wall. ;p

+Cody Windsor I know one of the reasons I like the Vive much more than Oculus (plus better controls and of course you've got freaking Valve behind it instead of Fakebook ) but I'm not just worried about the walls, there is way too much other stuff in my room (table, chairs, bed, closets, etc. ) that I can't just push out of the way while using a VR-headset. So in short, finally functioning VR is really cool but as of right now, it's not for me.

It's cool, but real painting is much better even though it's not 3D. And honestly, living a life with a VR goggle on for games, movies, appllications and stuff, almost 24/7, it feels pretty sick. I'd rather wait for holograms, so you can see augmented reality and not a 2/4K screen before your eyes.

You already spend the day with a 2K screen before your eyes. Well, I do. But I agree that the next step is hologram. Then the two will merge. This is the first step, because you can basically start decorating your place or whatever with 3D stuff, then we'll only need a way to display it goggleless. (but you might wait a long time)
