I'm glad you reviewed this figure, Paul. I considered doing a review on this too since I also bought the non transformable figure before I got the combining Voltron which I'll also review. I'll also review the chogokin Voltron. Please take a look at my review of Ultimate Voltron Ex sometime. If you have the chogokin or Ex, I would like to hear your opinion on them.

I am not a Voltron fan but this has been the best value for price toy I've bought in probably two years. I wish the missile gimmick had been a wrist swivel and shield. I would have also liked to the able to just turn on his lights with and on off toggle. Still great though!

That's a pretty good Voltron. I think I'll probably go and get the individual lions that combine, mainly because of the whole combining and the size. If you decide to review that combining Voltron, do you think you'll be able to do a comparison between him and Fort Max?

Queen Stodge go with the individual lions. It looks better,does more and the whole allure of voltron is the combining of the lions. In the review he talks about the proportions being better on this, they're not.i purchased this one for my nephew and the separate lions for my collection, compared both and this one comes across like it's cheap.

Wrong. The combination set is much bulkier. Also way more expensive.

+Leepicciotto - I just picked up Black Lion last night and it's fantastic. Can't wait to get the other four. Honestly, for a 30 buck toy it's got tons of functionality and good stuff. Posability is insane. The other four lions are 18 and again, for the size, that's a great deal. The plan is to get the other four on my next paycheck. I'm just impressed to get such size for the price point along with the crafting of it. None of the joints are cheap...very strong and durable. That said, I do like this version of it as well. I'm pretty mch planning the same except I'm earmarking this one for my son. The combining Voltron is undoubtedly better but this one is nothing to sneeze at either.

I've heard that Playmates will eventually do a smaller combining Voltron in the future that's likely aimed more for collectors as opposed to the larger one already out so perhaps that could suit you more.

ive been buying the combining lions and i think the detail is pretty spot on, especially in the combination, its exactly like the show

I've seen the show and the proportions are a bit off on the combining version. Like the toys arms and legs are a bit bulkier. This version nails it but obviously lacks the combination gimmick.

Robert H Should check out my review too if we're going that route ;) I show all the cool tricks that AntHero misses, plus how to REALLY lock the shoulders , i and show how to get lions in sitting poses all their articulation and ALL the articulation Voltron can possibly do. With all the hidden tricks. Except the ab crunch in combined mode but I show that when showing the black lion in part A.. They are both nice and short reviews 16.5 mins vrs 1 hour from every one else. but has the neccessary points and I do good reviews check me out! ;)

You didn't need to remove the wings to get it in that position. Unless it's only to see that detail. Otherwise don't know what's the complaint

This is nitpicky, and ultimately doesn't matter all that much to me because if I buy this it's mainly a display piece...but those are so clearly not the actors from the show providing those voice clips. I know Josh Keaton (the voice of Shiro, the Black Paladin) when I hear him, and that is NOT Josh Keaton. Seems odd, I think usually voice actors are up for providing a few toy voice clips? But like I said, it's a nitpick.

***** Totally get that. Just wish they would though. I'm a big voice acting nut, so it probably matters more to me, but there's something about it not having the voices that makes it feel kind of cheap no matter how good the figure itself is. Still a great figure though. I might pick this one up myself.

BlueScarabGuy I found it interesting that you mentioned Josh Keaton. He actually put up a video on RU-vid that showed his voice was used for a Spider-Man figure.
