Dr Esselstyn changed my life - I’m 65 & after 3 years in following Dr Esselstyn’s advice my Doctor has given m a bill of health equivalent to a 30 year old - have never felt better.
Great video. Dr. Esselstyn and Dr. Miller are fantastic. I have had several consultations with Dr. Miller and she is the best, I have learned a lot from her. I have been plant-based for 10 years but believe my diet has improved even more through my consultations with Dr. Miller.
Read Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn book 6 years ago and adopted WFPB diet. His book was the pinacle in stopping my heart disease from progressing. Amazing person and so passionate in helping others by empowering them with factual and scientifically proven information. Well done Dr. Caldwell.!
Great advice on chewing the leafy greens with balsamic vinegar. Only issue I have is that I'am on warfarin medication for life and can't have much leafy greens like kale etc due to the interaction with vitamin k and the warfarin.
Why need your medication if the greens are taking care of it? I was on statins and BP medication. I stopped them because i no longer needed to be using it. WFPB diet sortrd it for me. 👍🇦🇺
Thank you Dr E. I have been following your advice for about 4 years now. I am very confused about the amount of salt to take. I am also an aging athlete (64) who enjoys trail running and competitive shorter distances. I prepare 90% of my own food so I know what goes in it. I try to limit my sodium intake to about 1000 mg per day however I find I run better, have more energy and think clearer on a level approaching 2000 mg per day. I know the RDI for chloride is 3000 mg per day too. I also know our major source of chloride for stomach acid production is NaCl which is essential for getting nitrogen from our greens. What is your guidance on salt intake. With low salt I get cramps, dizziness when standing, poor run times, brain fog and a general feeling of unwell. What levels do you recommend that enables us to function correctly but is low enough to still protect our endothelial cells in our blood vessels. Can you point me to any studies.
Hello from Michigan. I have been watching podcasts that Dr Esselstyn has participated in, and I try to follow what he suggests. I also watch Jane and Anne, and I have their cookbook. My question is: Dr Esselstyn does not want us using toothpaste or mouthwash. My dentist would not be happy with me! What would Dr Esselstyn suggest that we use instead.
The best mouthwash is white iodine which is potassium iodine. 2 table spoon mixed with 12 ounce of filtered water . hold it on your mouth for 10 min before bed. Kills bad bacteria and demineralized your teeth. Homemade toothpaste is mixture of baking soda with calcium bentonite clay. Makes your teeth white and smooth
What is sad is that China has a more and more increasing prevalence of cardiovascular disease lots of it now since they are adopting Western ways of eating
