That’s exactly what I said when everyone said he should get a transformational emote. I said it would be broken since it’d mess up your hitbox too much. Why they didn’t give him a traversal emote where he rides his truck form is beyond me.
@@Jonrocks7 the only non dumb answer is to have him ride his truck form not to have him transform, because he’d either have too small a hit box or too large when in truck form and would literally make him a pay to win skin. That and then changing the hit box just for an emote takes a lot of coding. People that are complaining about him not having one are honestly being really dumb and petty over something that’s completely justified for him not to have for balancing reasons alone.
1:57 It is a shame that Optimus Prime that doesn’t have a built in emote where he transforms into a semi truck. 4:23 He may look large but you can always use the the Swag Shot emote from last season’s battle pass to see how he compares to the other characters in the game.
The second style should’ve been reactive to gameplay time and eliminations and they should’ve put his truck form as a built in emote and made the cannon an item shop emote for like 400 vBucks
I think it would make more sense if the a little version of his truck form is put in the item shop.......... him turning into an actual truck would be pay to win as Tabor said
@@TaborHill kit can transform exactly like Optimus prime does, they should do the same thing and allow the same exact thing and have the hitbox work as usual infront of the truck
My theory for Optimus Prime not getting the truck emote is because his head would be obscured Other skins with traversal built in emotes (like kit) still show their heads Prime wouldn’t have his head out (unless you want him to look like Angry Birds Transformers)
I mean I love both transformer skins but I really wanted more and hope the next transformer pack is good. Maybe one day we'll even get a nemesis reskin from prime.
5:42 The most disappointing thing about the axe in game is that it doesn't have an energon effect, but in the new movie it does. They should have given us his battle blades from the new movie and gave us a selectable style to switch it from the blades to the axe (that's what he did in the new movie, he combined the two into the axe you see in game) and have a option for it to have the energon effect on or off.
Maybe what they could've done is when you are in a truck with him he transforms into the truck and you are actually the truck and when someone shoots you as the truck the truck and you would take damage and it would make you not be the truck anymore after taking damage
He only had the Energon Axe in the Episode "More Than Meets the Eye; Part 3" in the original cartoon. In RotB, he has the axe from in-game that can power up like the Energon Axe (during the deleted Transit fight and during the museum battle. He powers it down(to the game version) when Unicron gets sent back and that's when we get the best look at it
Another good idea would've been if they added a mythic that transformed you intoca truck with increased speed and you pull it out whenever you want unless it runs out of fuel.

As a long time Transformers fan/geek, this isn't the worst treatment that Optimus has had it in a collaboration... Partially because every other collab uses his evergreen design, I'm just glad Optimus Prime in fortnite doesn't look blocky or stocky.
2:45 I found two weapon wraps and a glider perfect for Optimus, but to use them and have it look right, you have to have the battle tested style (lvl 125). With the battle-tested style, you also get an Autobot banner. So you can use the Banner weapon wrap and the Custom Cruiser glider with the Autobot banner and do make it so the banner color is red. What's interesting, tho is the red on the Banner weapon wrap is the same metallic red as the Optimus skin, if not similar and the white Autobot emblem goes with the white stripes on his shoulders, or you can use the Stealth Black weapon wrap to reference the color of his main weapon, the Ion Blaster. The Custom Cruiser glider with the Autobot banner is to reference the scene in Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen, where Optimus drops out of a plane, transforms, and parachutes all with the Autobot emblem. Bonus: For a Lobby track for Optimus or Primal, you can use the 'It was all a Dream' track b/c that was the music that was used in one of the trailers. Some might have already had this idea I thought I would share for the people who are still on the lookout for a weapon wrap, glider, and lobby track. Those are just my thoughts. Edit: You only need to be at level 125 for the Banner weapon wrap and the Custom Cruiser glider.
Honestly if they can do Kit then they can do Optimus Prime’s truck mode. All we need for his set is a music pack and a glider, but if he gets none of those then we can easily improvise
@@njstudios9869 Great, so people should be suggesting potential Solutions like that, rather than just complaining that it didn't happen. Personally I think it'd kinda ruin it for me if they did something like, just 'cause of how silly it'd look, but it might still be preferable over what we got.
My favorite glider for Optimus Prime is the wind crawler and my favorite wrap is the banner wrap with the auto bots logo in red or the ka-bang wrap( you get the autobots logo after unlocking the battle tested style of optimus)
I had this really cool idea for Optimus prime where his glider would only be exclusive to him because the glider itself would be Optimus forming into his iconic truck and he flies around being a truck eventually forming into himself when he lands. but I felt it was too complex for Fortnite to even do anyways
Honestly after thinking about it, it makes sense why they didn’t give him a transformation. I mean honestly, think about how broken that would be. The hot box would be hard to determine, the vehicle would obviously be smaller and so easier to hide everywhere, it would basically be a pay to win skin. With what we got I’m pretty happy and I can understand why they limited his emote to only his arm turning into a canon
This collab was such a letdown, Fortnite really missed out and didn’t take the time to make another page for Optimus which he has no wrap or glider and was very disappointed, even the Glinthawk was upset 6:13
I have to say I usually am pretty optimistic about seasons and battle passes but after seeing the battle pass and this review on Optimus I’m kind of feeling like chapter 2 season 8 when we got carnage. Got a lot of random characters and one really notable skin just to hype it up. Could just be me, thank always though Tabor for your honest reviews we love what you do
Fr, they really disrespected carnage that season, especially when they didn’t give him a built in. It’s s like doctor doom built in (only usable in a BR victory royals)
I know everyone says that they should keep his head poking out for the truck emote to work, but I don’t see a lot of people talking about how the rest of the hit box would change. His hit box would overall be much smaller with the emote, and the transformation would probably be really difficult for Fortnite to do, since it’s changing so many individual parts of the skin’s body.
They have other mini vehicle traversals already in game today. They’d have to adjust the headshot hitbox to be something like his cab windows while in this form. Should be doable & not like a player is going to want to move at 1mph during combat anyway. Could also just make this a standing emote or victory-only emote like the Dr Doom one. They also already have the Kit motor bot transform emote which WAS glitched but similar in concept (granted less parts)
Even though Optimus doesn't have some items you can mix and match like for a glider you could use the articulated blade wing and for a wrap you could use ice pop or one of those other multi colored wraps
They could easily fix not having a transformation emote. How you may ask? Simple. Make a small truck traversal emote that anyone can use but have it reactive to Optimus so that when he uses it his form seems to shift and the small truck takes his place while also having his color scheme. It would give the illusion of a transformation for Optimus while also being a regular emote they can sell to anyone. A few issues I'm sure some people would point out is the transformation being slow, lag the game, and making Optimus harder to hit without a regular body and the easiest way to fix that is to make his "transformation" fast, hidden behind a cloud of some kind, the truck comes out of it and when he's in truck form have a holographic person riding him. Obviously the drawback is you don't technically see him change and one person has told me it seems insulting to have a hologram ride Optimus but in the movies they had holographic people inside them in their car forms and I'd say it's more insulting they can't transform at all. For Optimus Primal they could easily just have had him transform into a gorilla the same size as Beast Boys transformation. Literally the only reason Primal can't transform is probably because Optimus can't and they figured there would be more complains if one could and the other couldn't. They didn't try too hard on this. They just wanted cash from Transformer fans.
6:22 you can also use the Lara Croft parachute to reference the opening of "Revenge of the Fallen" As optimus falls from the plane he uses a similar parachute
Pretty sure the reason why there is no transformation emote changes the hitbox changes like the headshots, Kit for example changes hitboxes but still noticable in headshots and bodyshots
There’s a scene in revenge of the fallen where Optimus glides down out of an airplane in truck mode, he then transforms and out comes 3 parachutes, this is a perfect glider for him
I feel like even if they didn’t do a transforming emote, at least they could replace the boring back bling with a miniature truck version of him, or even cooler, a little Optimus Prime action figure that would be reactive and transform after an elimination.

Optimus primal should have had a transformation emote where he transforms in the gorilla version and when he is done with the transformation he bangs his chest while roaring
All prime needed was just a transformation traversal emote but people kept saying that the hitbox is gonna be small and mistaken as a car which is stupid. the hitbox thing makes sense with the the speed of a traversal emote and the delay from emote to weapon, it shoudn't be a problem.
Ikr... Hitbox doesn't mean much if you go traversing like a slug... People still can snipe or land a lot of shots at the big square cabin of the truck... But little try hards kids just want to headshot people... Also, who in its full sanity will use traversal emotes in the middle of an actual match? Those are for fun in team rumble or in creative...
You can use the iron man pickaxe with this skin so it looks like the pickaxe is a part of his hand, and also the iron man's glider for the same reason... And I really wished that we would have gotten the optimus prime from the original movies...

For the truck, so that he has a head, shouldve done a like force ghost version that rides on the back. it would make optimus visible and there would be a truck
I think the glider was an amazing pick for him considering that in transformers age or extinction there is a Dino bot pterodactyl so I personally thought it was cool
I do think it would have been sick to have a transformation emote, but I think everyone is overlooking the fact that it would just break the game and make it unfair for players who don’t have him. A traversal emote of the truck or a truck glider would have been sick, and a wrap wouldn’t have been so hard to make.

I think they went with the ace bc he uses it in the new movie and that’s what they are trying to promote. However the transforming emote has no excuse to not be in game that is a non negotiable when it comes to transformers/ Optimus prime collab
I wasn’t too bummed by no transformation to the truck but I was bummed with the second style they could have done nemesis people nemesis it would have been epic
His pickaxe could’ve been a sword that comes out of his hand. It could’ve been his built in emote since they weren’t going to transform him. The thing floating above your character in his contrail is a big part of the movie. His glider could’ve been the plane transformer from the movie. I forget his name because he got like 5 minutes of screen time not including when the autobots were inside him. He didn’t need a back bling. It they add a bad guy from the new movie it wouldn’t be a decepticon. It would be a terrorcon. And he could’ve had a wrap colored like him.
Any thoughts on IF they might possibly add a transformation emote in the as of yet secret bonus battle pass stuff? I just know EVERYONE playing Fortnite has gotta be up in arms that they didn't include one for him! Also, I don't like they way his current cannon arm emote just automatically switches back to his hand...most of those kinds of emotes stay until you undo it with the emote again, so why didn't they do that with him?? Just feel like Epic really didn't even give a half attempt to do this character justice....

Honestly fortnite be messing with us in colabs like Star Wars there is no light saber pickaxe and now Optimus prime doesn’t have his iconic transformation that’s sucks
In the movies especially in Transformers 3 Optimus Prime does use an axe while holding it instead of coming out of his arm and it was in an orange color like the picture you showed in the original show.
@TaborHill , i think the optimus prime is so good. but what i think, it looks like the built-in emote is an example of how his full transformation may look like in the future. (if they happen to work more on O.Prime🔥🤖).
Probably the reason why he didn't have the truck is because of the licensing of the truck with the company, and he does use the axe in the new movie and in the Michael Bay films

I think I know why Optimus didn't come with a few things. Pickaxe: Optimus doesn't use the Energon Axe in ROTB but he does use the Cybertronian one Glider: Optimus doesn't have a method of flight in ROTB except for the Autobot that turns into a plane Wrap: I honestly don't know why he doesn't have one Contrail: The Autobot Signal was a main plot point of ROTB which is probably why he has it
The Hot and Cold wrap makes a really good wrap it has a perfect red and blue color scheme to match and the knight dragon Glider from season X works for the movie fans as he rides a dragon in transformers the last knight
i was planning on buying this battle pass just for the transformation emote, but there isnt one! such a disappointment and hopefully if they add bumblebee or any other in the future they will have a transformation emote, but a good video Tabor! always enjoy watching ;D!
I don’t want them to add anymore now cause if they do they have to go back and give him his truck emote and because it’s a bp skin you won’t be able to obtain him anymore so they wouldn’t really profit so I can’t see them doing that now he’s just stuck as a normal robot
He looks like Optimus Unwell if they were going for the G1 look they should have done more like the anime skins 🤔 Yes a truck transformation would be cool but also they could have done an animation of the Matrix of Leadership from his chest.
Tabor i 100% agree with you that fortnite/epic games missed out on the chance to give not only Optmus Prime but also Primal the chance to transform in to their other modes the truck for Prime and the gorilla for Primal. i mean after all beast boy can do it so why not have this a thing for the 2 characters in the game that are “ Transformers “ but hey i gues they could always add that in the game later right so fingers cross they do 🤞😖🤞
1:29 actually Optimus Prime has 3 rewards in the bonus rewards the contrail, the style, and there is a banner that comes with the style when you unlock it apparently the leakers have found the banner I'm pretty sure it is the Autobot logo as the banner
I say the Knighted one from season x battle pass will be cooler or even the stark seven wrap that matches but i really don't mind about if they added a glider at tier 100 at the end of battle
I’m a MASSIVE Transformers fan, and I agree that it is pretty disappointing. What we got is great! I love the skin, his accessories are really nice, but they left out so much. A g1 style would’ve been sweet, a glider, a wrap, and most of all, A TRANSFORMATION! I hope we get more Transformers skins in the item shop throughout the season…
That plane glider that was in the item shop a few days ago would have worked. If you know you know. Also preditors weapon wrap from the bounty hunter season I think would work. Reminds me of Fall of Cybertron game.
Optimus skin is cool but It feels like another darth vader where it's them missing something that would have really made it awesome When I first learned about transformers coming to fortnite I just wanted one character, but I don't we will be getting him which is a shame because we all know "Soundwave superior, Autobots Inferior"
I just don't get why Era got 3 pages and Optimus got 1 page they should have given him one of her pages for atleast a glider and wrap. When he got leaked I was so excited to finally have transformers in a game I play since there's no good transformers games currently. The lack of a transform emote is definitely disappointing indeed but I kinda was expecting since they added star wars skins with no lightsabers. They seem to always miss the most important thing about colabs.
