I mean to fair, for as much as Optimus was piecing Megatron up, he was eating those hits for breakfast and looked the exact same after the fight. Meanwhile, Optimus caught two hits from Megatron and was out there looking dusty as hell. That one roundhouse kick literally shattered Prime’s face plate and caved the side of his head in.

Well in original story he was a champion gladiator He survived ton of battle that little stab won't stop him😂 He lost to Optimus because he's a "prime" apparently if a someone choosen as prime they received great power and as you can see Optimus was something like a scientist back then so its didn't make any sense if Optimus can handle former gladiator without some kind of buff 🤔

I mostly think megatron shouldn't have been able to function as well after all of those hits from optimus, since he had a new body at the time.

This fight is probably Optimus's TOP movie scene period. He has a BOATLOAD of crazy entrances and wild fights, but when we saw him put that tree on Megatron's head, I remember the WHOLE THEATER going OOF, DAYIM, OOOOOOOOOOOF, because Optimus was DOING THE DIRT to those Decepticons! The first movie he was so-so, but the SECOND movie STARTED with Optimus straight hunting DEMON FERRIS WHEELS for sport lol, he was UNHINGED lmao

There was a quote to the effect of "when acting as a protector, failure / death cannot be allowed, because that would mean the destruction/ loss of that which is being protected as well". IMHO Optimus got a little emotional (perhaps wondering why the autobots hadn't arrived yet), which led to getting careless, which led to getting dead. This actually makes no sense for such a seasoned fighter, i'm gonna call negative plot armor on this one 😑

I said this once, and I'll say it again: This was the BEST scene! From the foundation to the forest, Optimus gave no MERCY, and demolished them cons like they were disposable characters. But of course Megatron had to stab Prime in the back just to get the upper hand. Even that 1v3 combo when Prime was being folded, he still didn't hold back, and then round 2: Prime gave them the "Optimistic Treatment"

I’ve rewatched all of these after seeing shorts and remembering I had the dvds. It’s downright comical to me how every time Optimus and Starscream are on screen together Star is getting bodied physically or verbally by Optimus. He doesn’t miss a beat he will single out Starscream in any fight he even rips his arm off while the decpeticons jumped him and it’s just kinda shown in the background like a major villain losing a limb was not the focus of the shot simply because it is Starscream and Optimus so it should just be implied

Optimus Prime could have pulled off that 1 vs 3 if didn't payed much attention to Sam or if Sam wasn't in the forest battle. Cause, it was Sam that distracted Optimus from Megatron by giving him his back.

Optimus was cold as hell in this fight, but I think it also showed how much of a damage sponge brute Megatron was. Bro got hit so many times by some nasty ass shots, yet got up and was looking like he took no damage. Meanwhile, he folded Prime’s ass like a lawnchair with that roundhouse kick, and sent him flying 60 feet with his fusion cannon. Two hits had Optimus looking raggedy as hell lol.

They had to gank Optimus just to stand a chance against him. Even then, he was soloing all three of their asses. It wasn't until Optimus was trying to make sure that Sam was ok, that Megatron was able to perform a Call of Duty execution on Optimus 😔

So, you have three Decepticons trying to take down Optimus together. One gets his face ripped apart, one loses his arm and dignity, with the third barely being able to walk anymore. And Optimus only lost at all because he got distracted. In the previous movie, he couldn’t even take on a somewhat stronger Megatron.
