My Mother, my sister and I were having a huge fight in the kitchen once. In the middle of it, my Mum sneezed and her dentures, which were loose and due to be replaced, flew out and across the kitchen floor. Suffice to say we stopped fighting and after a confusing moment or two of staring at each other, all started laughing. Fight over.
I wish Dental Care was included in ALL Healthcare Insurances... It's an IMPORTANT PART of Healthcare for all kinds of reasons, so there's no reason why it shouldn't be included.

Anyone with connective tissue disorders such as Ehlers-Danlos or Epidermolysis Bullosa would also need to look at the "all on 4" option as our collagen is faulty and we dont heal as well so dentures are a poor option for us. Our gum simply wont heal with all the rubbing from the denture against them. I have been aiming for this for years as my teeth are sharding off and my fillings are falling out because of it. In Canada, where I am, this procedure will cause me about $2000 per implant then the teeth on top to a total of about 30-50 thousand dollars! In Mexico I could have the entire procedure done for under $10 thousand! And that includes bringing a friend with me to the stay in clinic for the time it takes so she can look after me! Anyone wanna by a 60 year old kidney so I can use my teeth again for the next 10 years or so of my life? Thank you for explaining everything so well.
Wow. It's amazing how you understand the mentality of someone hesitant to smile. It affects me greatly at my job. People think I am angry or non approachable. I really would love to change my life with a better smile

I had all my upper teeth removed. I am a grinder. Most were ambulatory or had truma. I am seriously willing to go to a dental school and allow students to practice on me. I never realized all the negative issues I would experience. I am have digestive issues and I miss my smile. Masks have helped but hopefully we will not have to wear them much longer.

I have bad teeth and was at a company party with everyone just finished eating and the owner told me to smile because I didn't look happy. I asked her if she thought it was a good idea since we all just ate... xD I learned to talk without showing my upper teeth so she didn't know.
I can relate love. When all you really want to do is smile big and enjoy the party, it's not fair. Some of us just were born with bad teeth. You are not alone.

My husband had his front upper teeth knocked out from a horse falling with him when he was 19. This accident also took the bone out that these teeth were attached to. He is now 65 and has had the same partial. Im hoping he will choose to replace his partial with implants, but sounds like he will need a bone graft first. He wants to get dentures, but after reviewing several youtube videos, dentures look troublesome and uncomfortable. Great video.

I was in an abusive relationship for almost 10 years. I lost some teeth during that time. I so wish I could fix my smile. I dont understand why it has to be so expensive
In most states they have programs where they actually help a person who has been through abuse by fixing their teeth with possibly implants or dentures at usually no cost. You should check it out. My dentist said couldn't get implants because I was missing bone in my jaw.. but he never said anything about bone grafting. And I also seen a video about a girl who got the 4 implants on top and bottom and.. I was like ooo I need that/want that.. it looks scary not having teeth for months. Hi Sir,I had my front tooth removed by my Dentist and he basically just shoved a partial plate in,plus pulled out another tooth so it could fit,he didn't show me the plate when I asked and he said it was temporary, I had a grant from the government to get everything I needed to get done, Then everytime I went to his Dentist he wasn't there,he was on holidays or his day off,always something, my partial plate was too big,my front tooth was turned inwards and he took my 4grand,I've suffered with this for over nearly 10yrs, I'm wearing the same partial and I don't think I have enough bone to get a drilled in one,how much bone do you need as my gum dips because theres no tooth basically under my nose,.I've looked everywhere and I found you to be the best at explaining and could hopefully fix my head, it affects my smile,my lip has a indentation of where my tooth was even wearing my partial plate,.Its recked my life when it was supposed to help me,.I live in Victoria,.Thankyou.

Great info ! In 2015 I had the top teeth all removed and had a removal denture inserted - I am so very happy it is beautiful, everyone says I have a gorgeous smile ......... I use plenty of Polygrip daily to keep it snug in place and NEVER a problem - I can even eat hard almonds no problem !!! I will say this........... I have not had a relationship since this time as I am so embarrassed and will not kiss anyone as I don't want them to know I have a denture :(
Aww love, smile and kiss proudly. You should not be embarrassed of your dentures. Everyone will eventually have something fixed or pulled and you took care of your health! Be confident in your choice to put your health first. Tell any love interest straight up in the very beginning. I bet you will here them say they don't care if you have dentures. Stand tall, proud and confident. If anyone says they have an issue, well, then they don't deserve your awesomeness 😁
That was interesting . I lost some teeth through road cycling accidents .never new they could do so much today. .back in the day at dentist. It was two choices A filling or extraction .
Thank you so much for this information. I have been trying to learn what I can do to get my teeth fixed. I have bad enamel so it wears away and breaks easily. It's always a garuntee that when I have one removed the adjacent tooth will start decaying and break with a six month period. Doesn't matter how often I brush my teeth. Been an issue since I was a child. But my insurance is stupid and only allows bare minimum and no preventative at all. @@sl4983 I have decided to use snap in veneers temporarily and will be working toward porcelain veneers with bridges. If more teeth get pulled I will eventually do dentures, maybe implant snap in dentures.

I am going to Washington Dental in Tijuana, Mexico. Fantastic work and at least half the price. English spoken by translator “JP” in a very informative and professional manner. Just got my passport and skipped over the border. $5 for a taxi to take at San Ysidro or Otay crossing directly there and $5 back. Got a root canal and crown by an excellent dentist as a same day walk-in. They will always be my permanent dentist. So worth the trip if you don’t have dental insurance or even if you do. Been there 3 times in last couple years.

Dr please let me know ,I have very very dry mouth ,and have oral lichen planus so inside of mouth always burning, I have lost all my teeth and can't use dentures due to rubbing and can't use bridge due to loss of bone ,what will be my option? I was shot and now i have about 8 teeth on the bottom row broken in half and im missing another 6 teeth. My 2 front teeth and 4 of my back molars are gone but so are my gums, can you offer any tips of where to start. They are very painful and have been like this since july thank you
Oh wow, I am so sorry that you had to experience that. If you have your jaw then I would think they could do some bone grafting and something to stimulate your gums to grow. At least that would give you a base to work with. After that, you should be able to do any option.

Private dentists told me only good things about crowns and bridges. The public dentists I am currently seeing (and for whom I am very grateful) told me to not ruin good teeth to make them look slightly better. I trust the advice of those who make no money from me.

So I am considering a simple partial denture. As long as I am patient with it I think it should be fine. Funny this should pop up on my feed today....I just had an extraction/implant screw put in yesterday morning. (I had previously had an extraction and implant screw done 8 weeks apart.0 There seems to be much less pain, gum damage, and swelling. I'm still taking some ibuprofen (and antibiotics) but other than using an ice pack occasionally, I'm good! Not trying to rush it by crunching on a bag of pretzels....lol. But soft foods are going well with little extra pain. I am surprised that there was hardly any blood! Not complaining, and still rinsing gently with salt water. Thanks for your other information. And I'll avoid hard stuff for a few more months!
I need a bridge for a missing tooth but the dentist will need to take two more teeth to anchor it to a strong tooth.. but it's almost impossible to get an NHS dentist in the UK now and private is around £3000
Wait, why would it be rarely needed to do grafting when ALL the teeth are removed due to being too decayed, but grafting is more likely needed if only one tooth is replaced??
