Get better Moon images using the Optolong Ir Pass685 nm planetary filter. In this review you can observe my results on lunar craters, using the Optolong Ir Pass 685 2 inch filter, a 5 inch Maksutov telescope the Skymax 127/1500 ,a 2.25 x Barlow lens and a monochrome planetary camera.
I have tested the filter using the telescope at two focal lengths 2400 mm and 3600 mm. I was impressed with the results. I had Less atmospheric turbulence, Sharper images and better contrast.

Great Stuff! This is on my list. Look forward to see how it performs on planets, hope so try it!

Hi Avanteesh, should work good on planets but with mono camera, then you will need to use also rgb fitlers and filter wheel if you want a color image

@@GalaxyArtMedia my ZWO asi 224mc is IR sensitivity, it should still work right? IDk i have read That this filter Performs well with the ASI 224!

@@avt_astro206 i have not tryed it yet. Might have color balance issues. Will make an update when will test. Problem is that for planetary you will need larger scope with this filter if you go high focal length. And using high focal with a smaller telescope after you will lose a few stops of light, this will be noticed more when using a color camera

Very nice! Which focuser are you using with the eaf?

Hello, i used this robotic autofocuser: Event Horizon ZWO EAF Robotic Telescope Focuser - EVR - ASCOM- Cassegrain Adaptation farpointastro.com/collections/event-horizon-focusers/products/jmi-event-horizon-zwo_eaf-robotic-telescope-focuser-evr-ascom-cassegrain-adaption?merchantID=104739

This would also help with guiding camera as well? Given it reduces atmospheric distrubance?
@GalaxyArtMedia

Hi Pico. Is an interesting question. I have not tested this, i am thinking that having less distortions will help but on the other hand it will give you 2 times less signal that is a disadvantage for guiding

@@GalaxyArtMedia yes it does , but I use a 610nm pass fillter

@hiramvillarreal hello! how much better the guiding was with the 610 filter?
