Hello. Glad to hear that. Thank you for ordering. I recently connected the shop and you are the first one to order. I want to order myself one also and see how it looks. Can you let me know once it arrives?
Hello. Yes there faster to start imaging unless you have a permanent setup, i use the dwarf especially when i travell because my main setup is now on a pier
I will also choose the older AM5. The reason is simple: the DC and USB ports on the saddle are in the way, preventing the side-by-side setup method with a 90-degree rotation. The DC power at the front and this low-flexibility saddle might be ZWO's first failure. Ideally, they should have developed a rotating saddle with a free clamp, but ZWO did not do that. Therefore, I decided to go with the HAE69CEC, which has rear DC+USB ports, and the older AM5, which can rotate 90 degrees. Alternatively, I might purchase the AM5N, remove the protrusions on the saddle, and disconnect the internal cables from the board. I also think the case has deteriorated. A soft case would be smaller and better.
Which mount is best for a C8 SCT using an OAG with a ASI174mm mini for and ASI071MC Pro? Guiding performance is most important. My C8 with image train weighs 19 lbs (8.6 kg). Thanks for your opinion.
Hello! Regarding payload all mounts i mention i think will work weith a c8, regarding guiding performance i can confirm that Am5 whorks very weel even with larger telescopes, so should be the Am5N. Other mounts i have not tested mysef but saw some good results on other reviews like the Emcam 31 pro or the Pegasus Astro NYX-101, I am curious tos ee soem tests with the skywatcher 150i though seems very good price/paylaod, but havent see any test reports or reviews yet
Hello, you can watch my latest tutorial with the new sky atlas and goto feature tested on the dwarf2, dwarf3 will be using the same app, with offcourse some differences related to new feature but operating mode should be simialr, here is the video link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z7xnqkjdf20.html
EM31Pro and AM5 both use the same type of reducer, but the motor size of the EM31 Pro is larger, giving it a higher load capacity. The 10cm used in the load calculation for the EM31 Pro is the distance from the dovetail slot end to the telescope's center of gravity, not the distance from the RA rotation axis to the telescope's center of gravity. Additionally, the distance from the RA rotation axis to the dovetail slot end on EM31Pro is 94mm, which is shorter than that of other mounts, resulting in a shorter moment arm and comparatively higher load capacity.
@@GalaxyArtMedia Our parameter expressions might have caused some misunderstanding, we apologize for that. Thank you very much for showcasing EM31Pro in the video.
I have cuted that portion of the video when i was confused with the center of gravity so will not be any wrong information about the EM31Pro. Make take a a few hours or a day tu update. I would be curious how this mount would perform with my 10 inch telescope that with astro equipment and an apsc color cooled camera weigths just over 15 kg, about 15-16 kg
I think I will have a good test for the D3. We live on a sailboat, and, next spring we're heading to the Bahamas and then beyond. If it survives the ocean, it can survive anything.
@@GalaxyArtMedia well of course, though I have seen the Dwarf follow a helicopter flying behind trees, so, it can track. You KNOW I am gonna try at least a wide angle shot. Right now, we live in a marina, and, the darkest place around is on the boat (the shoreline has WAY to much street lighting). I'll be trying on calm nights anyway. Wonderful thing digital photography. Comes out bad? Hit the delete button! With film, we would shoot, take it to be developed and hope for the best.
@@waccooga you can try also the wide lens to capture the milky way maybe with a few seconds exposures the images might turn out good. Please let me know about the results
@@GalaxyArtMedia Will do! I have not tried any astro-pho in a long time (Hale-Bopp was my last serious attempts). I am looking forward to having fun with the D3, but, I also want to do things like follow variable stars, comets and other things (from land).
@@GalaxyArtMedia ,In Argentina the value of things doubles or triples compared to the USA. I am a retired teacher and I earn in Argentine pesos the equivalent of 5,642 US dollars per year.
Great news, and just at the right time for me. I've been thinking I needed a strainwave mount and should switch to ASI Air. Considered replacing my old ASI2600 with the Duo but now. . .now it's a no-brainer. Thanks for introducing me to it.
Excellent, I saw these images online and it’s helpful to know what we were looking at… hopefully you will receive one of these early production units soon
Thanks for the video. And to DWARFLAB, take your time in the testing phase. I didn’t rush to sell my D2 and thanks to the recent software upgrades, I’m enjoying it more than ever, so ship the D3 when you are confident it’s correct.
@@gigamemes2435 Hello, i found this dates on the dwarflab website: ;;Pre-sale orders ship sequentially from late September 2024;;.Preordering will get you a small discount and probally help you to get your dwarf 3 faster
Why ist here is no horizon as in the Nikon picture? Is it a limitation due to the size of the lens? That it can only capture a smaller area of the skyt? I really want to get a Dwarf, but I want to bigger part of the sky.
The lens is wide enough. Not horizon because of the angle of camera. Same is with a dslr lens to capture all sky from horizon to horizon tou need like 12 images or more combined in to a mosaic
Do you feel that the Dwarf 3 will now beat the image and ease of use of the Seestar? I have been going back and forth. I like the wide field of the dwarf. Would use for scenery and Deep Space, and moon shots as well.
The field of view, astro plan, mosaic, and having 2 sensors one for deep sky and one for widefield lens that will make possible later on when software feature will be ready to image also the milky way and dso objects in the same time are some attractive features that would make dwarf 3 more attractive then seestar s50. I hope in a few weeks I will get the dwarf 3 and properly test it
Hello guys.. im torn between this mount and the star adventurer gti.. i know this mount has more payload capacity but heard it has issues..what do you guys recommend based on experience. Thanks
Hello. Having used also the dwarf 2 and the seestar s50 i would go with the dwarf 3, because it has a larger sensor for deep sky, wider fov then seestar and can capture also the milky way
Hi again! in this video description ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-suPwx2LHrpc.html I have links with tripods that i recomand and also with the manfrotto tripodf i was using with the seestar s50
IMHO, by far, the best thing on the new mount is the thru-mount wiring. And by far, the biggest negative is the travel case. I like the old case much more. Capacity isn’t relevant to me because I use modest size refractors.
Good point and what WE DON"T KNOW, is the 2 extra KG is it a true data? Also and the AM5 with counterweights at 13 KG and AM5N at 15KG same performance? Also the only feature I wanted was the power in the Dovetail 12v 3amp. I'm thinking once we see an AM5N teardown to see how ZWO ran the 2 cables from the Dovetail into the mount? I'm thinking maybe just drilling an 1/2" hole thru the black round RA part so a cable can get into the AM5 body? Also the AM5 head dovetail looks like to have a place to mount a 5.5mm x 2.1mm jack, will need to confirm. Last what issues will the AM5N at 15KG and or the newer features.
Hello. Glad you enjoyed the video and thanks for the impressive fredback. Regarding actual weight with a large telescope the am5 suports like 9.6 kg and maximum performance and the am5n 11 kg without the counterweight this is a calculation of using the torque of the mounts. The new am5n has a small advantage with payload but for many will not be noticeable only if using larger telescopes might count
Thanks for the great video, quite a different story to the new Dwarf 3 😉 I have a 10”Quattro and if I was going to by an AM5 I would go for the new version myself , for a few more hundred pounds, not sure of the exact difference, I would wait for the AM5 N. It’s only a couple of months and worth the wait I think otherwise you might end up being disappointed or having to put on the counterweight to improve your guiding? If you’re going to settle for the 8” Reflector I would say you’ made a good choice with the old version. Good deal you have made though getting a tripod thrown in.
Thanks for the feedback and glad you enjoyed the video! My Quattro 250/1000 arrived today, i am still deciding if i will use it on the carbon fiber tripod or not, next week i plan to make a pier on my backyard for testing this 10 inch newtonian propery with the AM5, on this heavier telescopes you need to sue also the conterweight on both models of am5. I manage to get the telescope as lown to test it and buy after if it will work good with the mount, the new AM5N has an advantage on a larger telescope, but i hope also the old version will also be enough and still handle the weight good, would ahve been better a carbon fiber 10 inch but was over my gudget, so i will see after the test and make new videos on the channel with the results
I have the 2 and the mechanical focus froze making it useless. Good customer service and they sent me another one. I have a seestar and the level adjust was no longer working making it useless. Seestar said to calibrate the level and blamed me for the problem, they refused to honor the warranty saying it's my fault. The Dwarf 3 now looks excellent and I like the fact that I can setup the exposure then forget about it and will automatically expose and capture according to the time. I will most likely buy the 3.
Hi. I am glad that dwarflab sent you another unit and you are happy with the dwarf2. I think getting the dwarf3 is worth it. Is a big upgrade with the new sensor and also the other improvements
@@byronoh8857 Thank you for using the ling and supporting the channel. It helps a lot. Hopefully soon will get a dwarf 3 and will be able to test in and make. more videos
