So is it normal to be prescribed pain meds after a tooth extraction of multiple teeth these days ? I know I’d be much more comfy with something to control my anxiety so it’s good to know this but I have avoided getting my teeth pulled for dentures to the point that I am unnablr to chew food because of my fear of dentistry needles etc I don’t want to seem like I’m fishing for meds if I ask my dentist it seems wen I do ask these types of questions I get denied any thing at all or less than normal I avoid going altogether I have a deep rooted fear of this wich is not taken seriously possibly because my insurance isn’t the best one avalabl if anything it’s the lowest teer of insurances medicade to be specific and it limits types of procedures so I was forced to take every tooth out to get dentures instead of root canals or other fixes that would allow me to keep the good teeth I had at that time so I didn’t go back had one mold taken of my moutt and X-rays but even that was uncomfortable as all heck and painful but nothing was done at all to help wich made me fearful of going back the cold mold substance on top of my sensitive gums and broken teeth did hurt a lot I didn’t complain but was obviously in pain when asked about possible ways to help from being so painful I was ignored and told it will be fast it wasn’t and it hurt after I left but told me take Tylenol I don’t have resources to buy Tylenol so I just waited for the pain to reseed this has been over two years ago and now all my teeth are either broken extremely damaged or gone all the way except for the roots of all of them are still there I have stomach problems for multiple reasons so I don’t take Tylenol like pills as it upsets my stomach and creates other issues and the vomiting was one of the reasons my teeth were so badly decayed that and my eating habits wich in turn made the other problems occur anyway I just lost the last tooth I could use to partly chew or break up my food and I have no choice but too go in for the extractions and dentures but I am terrified as my pain was ignored once before and I don’t see it being much different how can I help myself make the whole process easier all together and what can I expect as far as possible medication that can or will be available to me and how do I approach the subject with the dentist I don’t want to upset him by saying he didn’t care that I was in pain my last visit even tho he wasn’t but I know from experience that the person that “talks” to the manager about crappy services never gets anywhere with complaining the employees don’t get fired or reprimanded the customer doesn’t get free product or even good service then or in the future in fact it may be the opposite so it’s almost better to not say anything these days even if it’s important to you so I’ve avoided a dentist for 40 years and two years ago was my first and last time I know I’ll need to go but need good advice to help me as even though it’s stopping me from chewing and painful the process will hurt more and I’ve needed weight loss so not eating so much isn’t too horible my fear of mouth needles pain careless dentists is strong I’m seriously stressing now more than ever I do have mental problems with anxiety so it’s not just the dentist but is making it much worse and I want to fix this problem with my teeth or lack of teeth I would have opted for fixing my teeth if I had the money for silver or gold veneers I would be happy to have them but I may be beyond that point for most of my mouth with exception of six to eight teeth that have enough tooth for a fix or root canal the rest I would prefer implants but again cannot afford so I’m given no choice but removal and dentures and have come to terms with that sad but willing just not trusting enough to go yet if this comment even makes sense and an answer can be derived from the multiple questions about everything my main worry is will I be able to get my pain taken care of during and after for the healing process?
