I do a cake with this recipe during the summer. I make a two-layer white or yellow cake, poke it and soak it in either orange juice or sweetened condensed milk. Then I double this recipe and "frost" the cake with it, with plenty in that middle layer. I pipe some Cool Whip dollops with an orange segment on each one for some decoration. Store in the fridge and serve slices on a hot summer day! Not many people can or will say "no" to this cake! It is amazingly refreshing! Thank you, Marie...I haven't made this in a while! One of my favorites , was so yummy and a easy peasy dessert. I remember eating orange dreamlike ice cream on a stick that used for taffy apples. We'd get from the ice cream man. This looks so good and perfect for a light summer dessert. I bet it tastes much like the Push Ups we used to get from the ice cream truck as a kid. Can’t wait to try it and so happy it doesn’t call for nuts!
This does look so yummy, will definitely try this one. I make a similar side dish for Thanksgiving with orange jello and cottage cheese, mandarin oranges and crushed pineapple. The night before I make it I put the oranges and pineapple in a sieve over a bowl in the refrigerator overnight to drain. I used to make this for work for our department dinners. Wish I had this recipe then, it would have been a big hit!!! Thanks for sharing.🥰

Thanks for giving me a great idea for the fruit salad for company which I am having in 2 weeks. A dessert very refreshing. And I love the orange dreamsicle bars anyway that is Orange is my favorite so just to be perfect and I'm just going to add a few other ingredients, like chopped pecans and a little coconut to this dessert yum yum and I know it'll be good thanks again😊

I use mandarin oranges and orange Jell-O and I add cream cheese. It taste just like one of those dreamsicle popsicles I used to have as a kid growing up. This kinda reminds me of Watergate salad which I printed off a recipe for the other day and plan on making this summer. My Momma used to make watergate salad when she would have parties like Tupperware or gatherings at her house.. so good. I like dreamsicles. Looks good Marie.

I always use orange juice instead of cold water, always, so much more flavor, I've also seen someone use orange sherbert instead that sounds wonderful. Lastly I always use real whip cream in place of cool whip. Only because I left a bowl of the cool whip sitting out for several hours by accident and oh Lord if you would have seen the ugly of what it turned into you too would never want to put that into a recipe ever again! Just saying you can't go wrong with the real Macoy!

So one of my Grandsons had a baseball game this past Tuesday, i made a double batch of this ...in no time those 7,8 and 9 year olds had it gone...we have another game tomorrow...i made 2 double batches..we will see if that is enough..lol...very big hit at the game..only i added the whole bag of Marshmallows...yum yum..thank you for posting this..p s...3 of the parents asked me for the recipe...so i sent them on over to you

Delicious... I substituted the banana pudding for vanilla pudding.. Keeping it more to the creamsicle taste... I'll try banana next time or I may even "improvise" and try vanilla ice cream in there.. Thank you
