I think his mind changed on that, after his cerebral haemorrhages. His wife highlights in her book, that the song effectively paid for his rehabilitation. The NHS can’t offer such intensive support- “A Girl Like You” royalties funded it.

Had the exact same thought while listening to F Rabbit the other night. It makes your whole experience of the songs so much more personal, something about the sonorous quality of the vocal tone.

I think it's a Celtic thing, the Irish and Welsh have distinct singing voices too.
