I'm glad I'm not the only one tying flies today, made my curry for supper, walked the dog, now I can sit down to do what any sane person does on a day like today, tie flies! Thanks Vladimir, keep them coming!
As always, most excellent tutorial! I am using, the best I can, your techniques as my foundational building blocks. You have helped me develop so fast. You are a wonderful teacher! Thank you so kindly 🙏 I took the Perdigon I learned from you to the river yesterday. Had one of my most successful events ever. Merry Christmas and Blessings to you and yours. Kindest regards, Ben
Vlad, great video and fly. I always pick up something when I watch.. I am going to say I believe that style bead was designed for the indent to be facing the rear of the hook, this allows any materials to be tucked up against the bead and kept in proportion to the body. I guess you could put it on backwards but I think it looks funky and it won’t ride as designed but it will still catch fish. I also don’t see the need for all the securing thread wraps, inverted and a touch of super glue does the job on every thing I have tied I don’t like extra bulk or potential for cutting or nicking thread.. You will be glad to know I have forced myself to try nano silk and I’m getting used to it there’s no bulk to that thread for sure!!! Keep em coming!!!
Thank you. You're right about the design, however, be open and try this way. Plus, it opens up space on smaller hooks. For the thread i dont know...i kind of feel safer with thread plus super glue. Its like steel bars through concrete. I dont like metal to metal connection with glue. Just me Sometimes i overdo things Merry Christmas. 🍻🍻
@@Oholisfliesandfishing vlad oh I will thread wrap the shank and build it up slightly then glue it in place, that’s just to get it in place. Once you get up to the bead with everything else just like any bead it’s never going anywhere it’s all locked it. But you know how tying is there’s a bunch of ways to do things buddy.. I do like learning as much as I possibly can .
I agree with your method of finishing off the wire. Counter wrapping the wire when tying off will loosen the wire just a little bit and I dont like that.
Happy New Year Vladimir...nice, sturdy jaw hackle pliers...who makes them, please? thanks a lot ...love the look of this pattern's hackle mobility for early-season fishing, particularly as you rank it highly compared to your PTN's :)
Happy new year. Those are nice. Its cottarelli hackle pliers. I have it for a few months and i am satisfied. Its pricey so i am not sure it would justify the price tag if you can fix any hackle pliers by adding some shrinking tubes... Orange pearl is good. But not as pheasant tail. Its worth having in a box
Hi, no problem, but i showed two boxes. Smaller one is with antron inside. Its hareline product. Bigger box has some swiss products inside. You can link here in the comment exact moment of the video so i can give you more accurate answer. (By the name I'd say you're Bosnian? If so, mozemo pricati i nas jezik 🍻)
