@@bernhardleitner1784 thanks. Glad you like it. hahsha i wish my cat was a hunter 😀😀😀. It actually cant go outside, gets scared. I got it as a kitten from the street and kept it with me ever since
To be a simple fly, it is a beautiful fly. You make it look easy and beautiful. Thank you for this great tutorial video. I will be tying several of these and following your video closely. Thank you again.
I love the atmosphere of this location and the chill vibe of the video, wonderful work! I also enjoy reading all the other positive comments that agree with me, please keep posting!
@@Alt-normallyAllen thank you so much. I almost didn't post this video. Seems that my fishing videos get less attention than tying videos. Cheers Vladimir

Thank you. This part of Guangzhou has better water than the rest. And it has surprising number of fish. I also like watching others fishing some nice places, or just unusual places.
@@Oholisfliesandfishing Yes i know, i already watched the video, but sometime its hard to pick up colors or the exact material, especially for people that are just starting like me and materials are still a bit confusing. Obviously is just a suggestion, but definitely list of the materials would be amazing and time saver, instead of going back and forward after i watched the video, then i try to match the material/color on my local shop website, etc etc. I think you got the point. Anyway, great videos, here in Bulgaria you get recommended a lot for fly tying, i started watching your videos few days ago and i learned a lot, thank you!
@@DeyanGeorgiev-iw8hb glad Bulgarian neighbors are watching. I am from Serbia. Anyway, dont bother too much to copy everything to last detail. Fish arent so smart. What is important to know is techniques and nature of mayerials i use and why i use them so you can find alternative materials in case you dont have same ones i am using.
@@Oholisfliesandfishing thats good to know, usually people advice me to follow closely the nymph patters even with the right size of thread. But maybe thats not the case as long as i dont deviate too much and replace the material with something similar
@@DeyanGeorgiev-iw8hb size of thread is important. If you have small fly and have only thick thread than you are in trouble. If you are tying streamer, using thin thread is also bad because you need more wraps just to cover the hook. Thread should be optimal for the fly size
Nice video. No need to apologize for your English. You’re doing great and I understand you with no problem. Hell, English is my first language and I deal with finding what I want to say at times.
Good topic Vlad and nice instruction. When feather is tied in by tip, I like how each successive wrap is supported by the shorter barbules based on natural taper.
Brilliant video, your very very good at displaying the real inside parts of fly tying. A short time ago I watched a lot of you videos,I am so impressed and have started fly fishing and tying again, what a great inspiration you are. Do you live in South China, you sound European that is very interesting, how is the fishing in China.
Excellent demo and explanation of soft hackle and use. I have been tying for 54 yrs now and still work on folding. I agree about seeing a feeling the feathers you buy, I hate buying online. Great job.
Thank you so much. What helped me learn more about folding are Wayne Luallen's videos, plus what he told me. Its very important to pull feather against your fingers i tried showing it in the video, hope that helped?
I agree with your comments about Hareline feathers. I've wasted a lot of money on "cheap" feathers trying to save money. I've also found that Whiting feathers are the best and end up being the best value in the long run.
A while ago hareline had better products. Ice dub was amazing, now their ice dub is very bad, much coarser than before. Whiting is just the best. Pricey yes, but when i count in the frustration of working with bad feathers, whiting seems like best choice
I absolutely don´t want to defend Hareline. But others are not better... Most of theses small bags are a scam: I´m already happy if 50% of these packs are usable in any imaginable way. They just grab a handful feathers from the collector off a featherpicking machine, I guess.
Even living in Germany near to Munich the options to buy materials locally is poor and I am forced to buy from online sellers although I have a really great one in Hameln who I trust. I opt for Whiting as for sure the quality always seems good compared to the other producers. I hope you can realize your dream of going pro. I look at some of the Semperfli “pro” team and they are not a patch on you based on the content and fly tying skill and understanding of materials. I’m now waiting for the next Feather Mechanic, while I doubt I’ll ever go pro I do like to tie better flies and your videos helped and those books are a great source of inspiration and instruction. Thanks.
@@robgreen6697 thank you so much for your kind words. while in serbia i was getting some stuff from Rudi Heger and Bogdan Gawlik, solid sellers. Rudi had some good cdc. Before i wished to be a pro team member. Now not so much. Very simple reason. Pro members have less freedom to say their real opinion... I like semperfl, but for example their kapok is not superb as they would like people to think. Chinese brand Royal Sissi has better and cheaper one. Hareline has poor quality control. Their ice dubbing bacame coarser over the years. And so on. As much as i would like to be a member of some good team, downsides are too much. So, other way is to dig my way with my channel slowly. I just hope i will have time for all of it. The feather mechanic 1 and 2 are both great books indeed. Best Vladimir
Sin duda la pluma blanda de una gallina o gallo es más fácil de enrollar que la pluma de una perdiz, becada etc, en verdad que es más práctico e incluso hará pescar a la mosca mejor, son todo ventajas 👌 cheers🍻
I haven't seen you for a while. I love tying and fishing wet flies-siders and traditional winged wets. I totally enjoy the mystery of what might take them. I use any feather I find-literally-suitable. They all work. although some are better than others. In Australia we have a common parrot called a Galah. I was given neck feathers a coupe of years ago They are a wonderful mix of grey and pink. They are suer soft. beautiful to work with and I can honestly say they are attractive to trout and redfin (European perch). Nice video here. :-)
I have slowed down. Work load and kid can be exausting. I wish i could do this for a living but so far seems as impossible task. But i will give my best to keep going towards it. I would love to see those feathers. Would you mind sending few pics to my email please. oholidzo@yahoo.com 😀 thank you for your kind comment 🍻
@@Oholisfliesandfishing Oh sorry-I meant I had not tuned in for a while. You do what you feel happy to do-it's all very much appreciated. I must sommunicate better next time. :-)
First item on the vice; hook, next item; bead. There is no mention of these at all. I've matched up Flow TJ850 Jig #12, and Tungsten Head Turner Gold 1/8".
i am not sure i understand what is your point here? If its exact model of the hook and size of the bead its irrelevant. People can use whatever they have. Following procedures blindly without thinking is not helping. Since you are regular visitor on my channel, did you get the impression i am suggesting people to follow recipes or to learn techniques? If first is true than one of us is very wrong. Maybe i didnt make it clear or you didnt get my message. Either way, i would like you to tell me? I am quite surprised because you are literally the only person posting negative comments. All the best, Vladimir
