Thank you for highlighting orange's beautiful clean tones on behalf of everyone who doesn't understand why some people only go on about their distortion. They do both amazingly - even their budget stuff!
I have a cr60c and couldnt want anything any more I am sick of this amp no clean tone at all no matter what settings you put distortion is killer tho but I use pedals so I want a clean tone and can’t get that would not recommend people to buy this 500$ amp it should do everything plus make me food for that price
The Orange Dark Terror has a killer clean tone if you're using a single coil on the neck pickup. Actually, I think a lot of the Dark series of Orange amps have very good clean tones!
Orange amps are pricy for a reason. They’re well built. I remember falling love with the orange amps when I was in band class and the other guitarists got amazing tones out of the solid state amps. Any time I had the chance I would plug into the amps. Until I was kicked off because I was low priority on guitar..... fun days.
I use a rocker 15 combo with my band. At first I wasn't really getting what I wanted out of it. I was constantly switching between the natural and dirt channel. Now I just set the dirty channel on the edge of break up. It's great and gives you a very classic rock feel. It responses to your hands and your attack. I use to use a compressor on my old rigs but found that the rocker 15 already has a nice compressed feel. Over all I love it because it's light! If I need more out of it I just plug in into a 12 inch speaker for more low end.
Orange's are absolute tone machines! I love my Crush 20rt. Beautiful, expressive cleans with a lot of harmonic content. And then on the flip side, I can really crank up the dirty channel and get a massive, stoner/doom tone without any pedals. Freaking stellar amps.
I didn't watch this before I chose my amp but probably should have. I really only use my guitar amp for the clean sound. My fuzz fuels the dirt signal, and the tubes just before breakup church things up nicely which pushes the amp into some otherwordly depths of saturation. Feel free to join me on a sonic journey any time Madame Ambassador.
Love this demo! I'm not at all a fan of the compression characteristics of Orange drive channels, but find their warmer cleans to be absolutely spectacular for what I like to do. I did find it a bit misleading to tack on at the very end that you used a compressor the whole time... I thought there might be one, but I just assumed since you didnt mention it, you were going straight in 🤔🤷🏻♀️
Orange Crush amps are the winning underdog. Their cleans are fabulous and break up just like a tube amp. The dirty channel if kept at high noon is like a Tweed amp pushed to the max. I love my Crush 20RT. Spring Reverb is fantastic, Gain is excellent so no need for overdrive pedals. All I need is a Tremolo pedal. I hope future crush generations will have it like your TremLord.
I’ve got an Orange Crush 35RT, Orange Mini with a 1x 12 Orange Cab. Going to pickup a Crush 20RT for my daughter. She loves their amps too. I play mine clean and with a touch of crunch. 🎸😉
Clean channel sounds so nice and bright. On my Rockerver, it's slightly but noticeably cleaner and brighter at same volume as the dirty before overdrive kicks in.
Awesome sounding amps! Great tones, thank you Mary. Just a heads up, the overall volume output of the entire video was very low comparatively to other RU-vid videos.
Very nice clean tone, just to say that even Orange amps can due and very good clean tone. I have the Micro Terror amp whit two 8 inch’s cab and to my taste and what I use it for satisfy my taste. My Micro Terror can do very nice clean tones to, works very good whit the vol of the guitar.
Is some crackle with a humbucker on the clean channel at high levels to be expected on a 20RT and 35RT? It seems to only really happen on the Low E string. I tried three guitars with hums and they all sounded the same. At actual listening levels, the amps sounded awesome so it isn't a deal killer but thought I would check in here.
Sounds great Mary! I've always been enamoured of Orange amps as well, and unapologetically that began before I ever (consciously) heard one, because they just look so cool. No other Amp companies make, or seem even to attempt to make, anywhere near the eye-candy that Orange does. I've always worried JUST a bit about getting one cause I'm from a big Irish family in a very Irish part of America, and I hope the connection to the troubles is accidental. I don't think anyone meant to make a political statement with these amps, but I fear one could be construed by the wrong folks.
The amps sound almost as beautiful as she does ;) I'm keen to know what she thinks of the Jim Root #4 Terror head. Despite having four stages of gain it cleans up really nicely and sounds beautiful with low gain as much as it roars and screams with high gain. That's my amp.
I've been looking for a right amp for me for months now. Fender has great cleans but horrible distortion, Vox has a great crunch and a great distortion but the cleans are too nasal and not so cleans, Marshall has a great distortion but the cleans aren't that great. Then there's orange, which I kind of ignored cause I thought I liked them just because of their looks. But hell nah. They're the best. They have the best cleans and the best dirty sounds. No cap
Weak Audio on your voice and playing, Mary. I never have been a Orange guy, but you make me wanting one 😂😂😂😂 Great clean tones! I always thought they just do good dirty sounds, wich i don't use much.
i can PROMISE (being a hick from the south) that you will LOVE Orange amps if you like clean headroom with the ability to get a little hair when cranked !!!!!
@@nicksonthevet hard to tell on RU-vid but, I like more sparkle. That rocker terror sounded a bit warm an slightly ‘fizzy’. I guess you’d get use to it.. 🤷♀️ I have the Jim Root terror and the dark terror. The cleans are ‘okay’ but nothing like a Vox or Fender cleans.. even some Laney’s have blistering cleans - the Lionheart 👍 I think it’s the tubes
@@rambleify You know better, I have never used a tube amp and here they are not available even the SS ones. I have a Fender frontman reverb amp PR 241 and a Harley Benton HB R20 that came from abroad. We depend on RU-vid reviews to purcahse gears online.
