Thank you for doing a review that wasn’t mostly slapping. The majority of review videos are usually very slap heavy. It sounds cool, but I feel that most musical situations I’m in don’t call for it.
terror bass + pro series warwick + OBC410 + sansamp + diamond bass comp = perfection I leave mids cranked and a good amount of treble, shit cuts through like nothing else.
I have a Terror and I am head over heels in love with it. The tone! The tone! The simple lay out! It's awesome and worth every penny. This White Elephant song kicks ass too. Bandcamp?
Awesome bass head. \m/ both the clean and distortion tones sounds pretty cool. I especially like how it sounds with a chorus pedal. Plus that white elephant tune sounds awesome. Sounds like there’s some Black Sabbath influences in that song. Other than that, great demo on the bass head.
I appreciate the honesty on your channel. It can be difficult to make an informed decision if the host just raves about every piece of equipment being demoed. After watching, I actually ask myself if it’s the right sound for me instead of thinking I have to have one.
That song was Fucking AMAZING, thank you for turning me on to it. I don’t know if it was just perfect for the moment, but looks like I need to dig deeper into White Elephant. Cheers
Glad I'm not the only one. I've never been really impressed by Orange's bass stuff. No matter what I did with my OB1-500, it was a bland, uninspiring tone, but unlike with you and the Terror Bass, this was especially true for the cleans.
You should make another Aguilar Tone Hammer 500 video! It would be a lot better if you do it in your new format. Before, you never used to give much information beyond what ads say about a product, but now, you actually give opinions and do much more helpful demonstrations. That's why I think that the Tone Hammer 500 deserves a new demo from you guys!
Very cool Demo! I have the Orange Terror Bass Combo. I like it. Hidden 2x12, looks like a 1x12. It doesn't have the new features, but who cares. its pretty damn light and was only $500 for it. You can't get a better Tube amp for that price. It sounds killer too!
@@TheBassChannel Noooo. Do not let this Warwick go!! Because I have the same bass and its always awsome thing when I can hear how my Warwick sound with all that gear :P
When it comes to lack of volume, here's my Pro Tip: Don't use an Orange OBC 115". Go for a cab with more efficiency. I had the luck to check out the Bass Terror 500 with an old, sealed 410" @ 8 Ohm, equipped with Celestion 10g50, built in the end of the 1980's. The amp was loud enough to help me cut through two heavy metal guitarists with 100 Watt Engl heads and a 412" plus a hard hitting drummer. The amp didn't even start sweating. I would like to hear the Amp at my Tecamp L 810 @ 4 Ohm, or my L 215 @ 8 Ohm. But for me volume comes 1. From cone Surface 2. From the efficiency of the speakers. Those OBC 115" cabs are known not to be the loudest cabs on the market. Use two of 'em, stack 'em to get at least one of 'em nearer to your ear. Then try again.
I’ve had mine for a few years. Started using it as I was looking for reliable, lil dirty sound I was not getting from some larger Gk’s after 20 years. I have paired it separately at times with a vintage Marshall bass cab, mark bass traveler and ampeg 2-10, horn and 12 sub, playing in hard rock band and it is plenty loud in bar/club venues. Great sound and versatility. Highly recommend it.
I have the first terror bass 500. Cracking lovely warm sound. Suits my needs perfectly. Im looking for a backup amp… might grab this new version 👌🏻 or maybe another hybrid amp.
The drive of this amp doesn’t work well for crunchy heavy tones, but it takes drive pedals really well and also sounds amazing standalone with a P-Bass and flats for Motown/blues/etc.
F yeh I’ll stay to the end. I get so happy shying see a new video. That said...... Orange isn’t going to be happy till they have ALL of my money, you’re getting greedy Orange!!!
My mistake. I should have elaborated that I was predominately talking about it with just this cab. It MAY not be loud enough depending on your band and the environment. With a 4x10, though. You'd probably have no issues.
The original Terror was better in the sense that it more powerful. It was 500 into and 8 or 4 ohm. load. By the way, you like most other reviewers don't get the passive tone stack.
I currently run a 1968 kustom amp and head, Absolutely love them both. I was looking for something more high end I can work towards would this amp be a good investment?
It breaks up a decent amount if you crank the gain but you're not going to have nearly as much control over the dirt as you will with the darkglass amps... The terror bass is a good warm sounding pedal platform, I set it so there is a small amount of tube breakup and run my alpha omega ultra into the front as my main distortion sound.
@@TheBassChannel oh . i have great attack. And I am using a fender Steve harris signature bass. As well with fender p with geezer butler pickups and i have a fender p mij le midnight series and ibanez sr655...
Has this amp been rereleased, or is this just a new video review? Thought I played this in a store last year, but didn’t find anything online on different versions.
Not at all. There's a reason Orange has been around for as long as they have. The drive in this amp may not be my favorite, but that doesn't mean it's shit. It's built solidly and the cleans are great.
