Deg Rai Mata oran is one of Rajasthan's largest sacred groves, protected by the surrounding villagers through a traditional code of conduct. A local guardian tells us how the lives of oran’s people and its biodiversity are intrinsically linked and why the new changes to the landscape brought about by power lines and turbines could be detrimental to this sacred oasis and its practices of coexistence.

I belongs to that Oran area. So called civilized peolpe pronounce uncivilized to rural people but it's a subject of research how these uncivilized people protected this biodiversity. On the name of development so called educated and civilised people destroying everything. Yes development is also required but only sustainable not destroying.

Magnificent documentary and visuals. Rural folks are playing an important role in sustaining the wildlife in Rajasthan since old age. Loved the way you guyz showed the co existence of human and nature.. Yet various steps should be taken to preserve the habitat and habitants therein. Splendid work👏😊❤️

Wow. I have owned a sand boa before. But I never thought that a sand boa, or any snake, would want to eat a uromastyx (spiny tail lizard). I thought the tail would be too much for it! Eagles and owls, yes, I can imagine they catch the lizards (and snakes).
