Not yet on that subject, but: I can tell you: Smaller rigidstructures can also be glued to Oratex with Superglue (Cyanacrylate).Superglue can also be used to adhere to concave structures, inspection rings, grommets, drains and vents...such as those on the trailing edge undersides. When melting the holes for the drains and vents 3/16 is too small, at least in my world it is. Its better than smaller yet, but I would make it bigger. up to 1/3 of an inch is what I will do on my airplanes. 8mm. -With Sea-Plane grommets on every hole (Little air-scoup facing aft).I have found amazing amounts of water in airplanes, and I see the biggest issue with accumulating condensation. I think this issue leads to a lot of deterioration and is in general underestimated by most builders. Of course you cannot have any totally enclosed, un-vented structure to begin with. I highly recommend to put a Seaplane grommet at each and any place where water might accumulate. I have seen a Rudder on a Citabria rust out in 6 years (3/8th tubes) because it had no drains... rainwater entered it in volume where the electrical for the tail position light goes through the fabric.
Hi Lars, thanks for sharing this video. Do you have any video showing how the wrinkles that get formed when ironing the fabric the first time to curved surfaces are removed. How much time do I have to remove these wrinkles?
