Hangar rash incident and a broken wing rib.
Using some spruce left over from the build and some Oratex tape, I was able to have the Legal Eagle airworthy again in just a few hours.

Great video... I have watched your video and another one on a “rib build” on RU-vid on building the Legal Eagle ribs, and you guys are using off-the-shelf water based wood glue. That’s a no-no for a/c construction as moisture and heat will eventually compromise the glue bond. Did you build your entire a/c with tote bond???

Titebond 3 is a waterproof, high strength structural glue used for exterior applications and was the glue of choice by the original designer/builder of Legal Eagle back in the 90's and for many people since that time without issue. I used Titebond 3 on the ribs and T88 everywhere else in the wing structure.

Hey those domed inspection panels "plunk in" if you push directly in on the center. It then comes out very easlily

Always use aircraft grade timbers. Aircraft Spruce is a good start: www.aircraftspruce.com/categories/building_materials/bm/menus/wp/spruce.html

So Oratex seems to be similar to modeling Monokote. True?

Hi C Cy. Oratex company started in fact as a Monokote competitor making shrink fabric for model aircraft before entering the "real" aircraft fabric business.
