A brilliant invention, good job, I hope the inventor makes a mint. In case your viewers missed it, as I'm absolutely certain they did, this does not require strong ankles as do roller blades, ice skates and roller skates which can easily break your ankles if you run into an obstruction because your foot is ABOVE the wheel, this offers protection since your foot is below the wheel. The wheel is BIGGER than roller blades or skates, it can go over bigger obstructions, this is PATENTABLE,
I happen to applaud this idea. Stepping forward is what all of humanity is based on. I like the idea of something new. To all the haters, its okay, you have the right to your opinion and i do not mean to bash you at all. Im just saying i happen to think this is pretty cool and would definitely purchase a set for me and my wife if i ever come across them.
It's a stickless ripstick... Or sideways roller skates. I can see it being an appealing motion, but I foresee a lot of broken ankles and accidental splits. I'll stick to my longboard for now. Wait. Ok... the grass impressed me. I hadn't thought about the larger wheel making a difference on rough terrain. That would be a major selling point, especially with thicker, maybe treaded, tires.
The video didn't even make them look fun. Notice that they didn't go over a curb or down a step. You have to have your feet flat on them all the time so you don't get any real power moves. Lift your foot a little and you've lost your center, you've lost your balance and you're probably on your ass. Once the novelty wears off, these things would go strait into the trash.
Gee with such a great and innovative new "toy" and mode of transportation, I am surprised that so many Guatemalan children were shipped off to the U.S. without parents. For that reason alone, I would never buy Orbitwheels for the kids in my family.
"quick, down that narrow alley", "but how bond? people walk forward, the only way we'd fit in there is if we could move sideways"...."no worries deary' I've got this"
"Wild and Wacky action bike! The bike that's hard to ride!" "Wild and wacky action bike is almost impossible to steer. And it glows in the dark!" "You can't ride it! You can't ride it! You can't- *crash*" If you don't watch South Park, you won't get the reference. :P
So at my college campus people took a broken skate board, cut out a platform above the trucks and did this same exact thing, they fly too. Looks hard to stop.
your completely right too, but sadly look at our market, this would actually sell just because of the "concept" or w/e you wanna call that, cool idea but like u said, it should be "better" than traditional skates
This may in fact may be a viable means of transport; However, this simply appears to be HELL on your ankles and could possibly cause groin and ankle injuries.
It would be like this if it was a free rider skate cycle and these rollerblade things; Rollerblades: Sup bro, like my new look? Skatecycle: You took the center bar out of my design and made yourself into the resulting monstrosity? Rollerblades: Yup (Skatecycle attaches a rubber center bar to these rollerblade things) Skatecycle: There you are, a nice upgrade! Now we can live peacefully and be one! Rollerblades: Thanks, now I'm 10 times better! The End
Gee, I wonder why they havent thought of connecting those two units by a rigid rod.. that would be brilliant and could lead to a $1B industry. Oh wait this is 2014.. for a sec, i thought we were in 1920
Bien por eso, creo que no se debería patinar en las aceras, pues es un peligro para otras personas y para el mismo deportista. Hay lugares adecuados para cada tipo de deporte.
Looks fun and shouldnt snap to many ankles :] no more then skateboards and skates. Depends on how much foolery you try. Im sure some nut will try to ride a rail on them things or something. XD Epic
OK guys, go out and buy one pair of Orbit Wheels. Invite a hottie out on a date and convince her that your one pair of Orbit Wheels are specifically made for two riders. Put your feet in first, then have her put her feet on top of yours, facing you of course. What a great first date!
