Any possibility of a reinstatement of the breeding program? At least last I knew the law still allowed for it. Assuming it still does,its a window of opportunity that at least at this point in time is still open. There are questions of limited gene pool, animals being to closely related and the possibility of inbreeding that have some people concerned,, but I believe that those are difficulties that could be surmounted and overcome, if there is still an interest in reviving the program

I work as a SeaWorld rescue member, and you’re failing to realize the fact that they save thousands of whales, and treat them when they are sick.. we build a bond with these animals just like you would train your dog/pet. You’re point is recognized, although we have an underwater tunnel for the whales to go back to the ocean and return when it’s show time.

they dont rip baby whales away from their mother... theyre captive bred. The ones we saw was a mother and her two daughters performing... very cool.

The biggest difference is they are not longer allowed to enter the water with the Orcas.

Orcas have a matriarch society. That's what the trainers said. The female orca was chillin like a queen.

It’s possible that orca just didn’t want to do it that time. The trainers never force the whales to anything. They can ask them and it’s always up to the whale if/when they want to do it. Last time I went they canceled a whole show bc Katina didn’t want to. And usually if the matriarch isn’t feeling up to the show, they others won’t either

I know someone who was interviewed in that documentary. They said so many good things about SeaWorld's research. Only 1 sentence where they said something bad about SeaWorld was kept in the documentary. I worked in the veterinary field so I knew what I was getting into. Same goes for these trainers: they know the risks.

And the only thing they changed was not having trainers n the water anymore with the whales... But they only did that because of black fish not like they care anyway

Maybe the trainers know something you don't. Unlike you, I've actually spoken with them. They love these animals and it's a wonderful thing for them to be responsible for the care and well being of those animals.

I don't think anyone is suggesting the trainers do not care about the animals - that is a completely separate discussions from whether or not the animals should be there in the first place. Does the trainer's love replace the 40 miles a day an orca would swim in the wild? Probably not, right?

I get it they can't be released back into the wild so bring the wild back to them in their tanks where they live.. Instead of selling so many Shamu stuffed orcas..and making these very Intelligent Orcas perform parlor tricks like dogs or parrots for dead fish daily..SeaWorld if they truly cared should put 50% of all Seaworlds proceeds into the Orcas environment and give them some live food with a little variety ..I mean come on.. would you like to eat day old McDonald's fish filets ONLY for 30yrs... supposedly SeaWorld is keeping the animals for educational purposes well then teach it like it really is...duplicate the Orcas true environment and stop taking babies away from their Mothers .. Newsflash that's NOT how the Orcas truly live... they stay with their mother their entire life with very few exceptions...SO SeaWorld is pitching lies and displaying their GREED!! @@ryangames3554 That is not correct. Studies have shown that children don’t learn anything when visiting a zoo or SeaWorld. Kids usually look at animals for 11 seconds in zoos, before going to the next animal. Be honest, what do you know about orcas without doing any research now? I know so much about them, and I’ve never seen a wild orca. Trainers at SeaWorld spread wrong information without even knowing it. Today, we can watch so many documentaries about animals. What do you see when looking at an Orca in SeaWorld? Unnatural behavior. Orcas in SeaWorld do teach us how Orcas don’t look in the wild. That is the only thing we can learn from SeaWorld.

@@cryogenicheart2019 No, trust me. Orcas Are Still Suffering in Captivity. Norrmally, male orcas have a straight dorsal fin. Not in captivity though. The bent fin is a sign of stress, sadness and sickness. Orcas in captivity usually die before they are 30. In the wild, the females can live up to 100 years. There are a lot of videos that show orcas attacking humans or even other orcas in captivity. This does not happen in the wild. Orcas are captured from the wild and then brought to SeaWorld. Orcas have feelings and emotions just like we do. When a female orca and her baby get separated, they are sad, search for their babies etc. Orcas are extremely intelligent and are still abused in captivity.
