OrcaTorch D530 Dive Light Review

Man that would be a long video. I have accumulated a bunch of dive lights over the years. Currently there are 6 that I use day in and day out. My primary light is the Comfort Zone Scuba Land and Sea (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OKf5M1PES8k.html), and I back it up with the Mares XR Back Up Light (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YzVXMV99tHg.html). When I dive in Sidemount, I still use the Comfort Zone Scuba Land and Sea, but I back it up with the OrcaTorch D520 (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-ms0D3f3lyuA.html). I also use 2 of the Comfort Zone Scuba LilPowerhouse (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-lj42uhlyqA8.html) lights on my Full Face Mask.

I wished it was a million-dollar business. LOL. I have been very impressed with their lights and their innovations over the last few years. They are definitely giving the American market a run for their money, when it comes to high quality, yet inexpensive lights. I have managed to break the head of one of their canister lights, the OrcaTorch D620. I didn't even realize I had done it, until it was to late. Thankfully it didn't flood. Now it will only produce about 100 lumens instead of the 2700 lumens that it once did.

Hello Richard van Tricht. For real murky water, anything over 1000 lumens is too much in my opinion. I prefer the Land and Sea model from Comfort Zone Scuba.

Hello Illusion (Classic Rock), Orca Torch makes great lights that will satisfy most of your diving needs. My go to light is the Comfort Zone Scuba Land & Sea.

@@LakeHickoryScuba we actually are planning on swinging by your shop. We are only about an hour away from there. We went to blue grotto Sunday and back to devils den Monday. We got there at 8 and got 2 dives in with the place all to ourselves before anyone else got there it was nice. Do you ever get out to Blue Stone Dive Resort in Thomasville NC?

Devil's Den is much more enjoyable when it is vacant, this past Saturday was a mad house. As far as Blue Stone goes, I love that place. So much to see, and it is great for Public Safety Training. The Coy Fish they have stocked there are huge. I haven't been there in a few years as we have a quarry about 25 minutes a way (ncpdra.org), and we also have our local lake which is only 8 feet outside our front door.

We will definitely let you know. I have some new Assistant Instructors on staff now that have never been there. I will try to plan a trip to take them, and we can meet up and dive together.

Hello Ranger77, at this time, the only technical course we offer is the SSI Extended Range Gas Blender Course. We are currently transitioning all of our Technical Instructors, myself included, from their current agencies (PADI, TDI, CMAS, PDIC, and SEI) over to SSI only. Once we have completed all of their crossovers, then we will be offering the entire line of technical courses they offer. If there is a particular course you are interested in, we will be glad to refer you to another facility who we trust.

I like your style because you actually teach and instruct. my LDS is great but I feel like they just "certify" new divers. you are a hike for me (I'm in Az) but i would definitely like to take a class from you.

Sometimes my lumens sounds like looms. I am a southern boy. LOL
