Excellent program discussion! As a lifelong educator the theme best expressed was the notion of EQUITY (as opposed to equality) & INCLUSION (as opposed to catering); something that was always a matter of intentionality as a purpose; giving all students an investment in the programming of our educational space; making it OUR space, meaning that it meant looking for opportunities to feel they belonged by recognizing and affirming differences as accepted (rather than being tolerated). The same thing applied to the way i coached our basketball team. Why our classroom was referred to as the real-life Dead Poets Society.
