Aloha Melissa! I also would’ve felt a certain way about that woman exchanging phals! She’s definitely not an orchid lover! Awesome unboxing, love the wood mounts! I’d grow all my orchids mounted if I could. Mahalo for sharing 💚
Hi Melissa 😊 thought I would let you know that you should talk to your buddy Nelson because he uses 1 sprayer for insecticide with his fungicide and 1 for the fertilizing....check with him on it. I remember him doing a video on how he does it....and great haul! Love the giant box in the face😅 you're so funny....😂 I love watching your videos here in Oregon.
Yeah, some people join the Insecticide and fungicide but I think the directions advise against that. I've done it and have seen success but not sure its is the best practice.
Hi Melissa. Love your videos and agree with you about the lady swapping plants. I get so attached to my orchid babies I could never do that and it's wrong. Here in SE Pennsylvania my home depots only sell Phals. You are lucky your Home Depot sells different kinds. Love the in boxing. Will check out Orchid Supply Store😊
Hi Melissa you should look into purchasing the bottle that attaches to the hose for fertilizing. I got mine at OFE and they explain how to use it. big timesaver.
I absolutely agree with you. What that woman is doing is so wrong! That just makes the prices go up for the rest of us.😢 Love the hauls you got. They are all so pretty. The Den Aridang Light Blue💙 is absolutely gorgeous. I have a Den Aridang Green and💚 it is such a great grower. Hugs, Sherrii
Great haul as that Dendrobium is beautiful! Also, great unboxing! And yes that lady is scaming the big box stores....and then off in her big mercedes haha!! But seriously thats wrong what she is doing.
Lovely new orchids! The new keikis on the dendrobium is just a young version & will age to look like the mother plant. Like us all!! I’m finding my Dendrobium Phal. types are growing huge in my compact shade house. When they spike it almost hits the roof!
Tree fern is excellent for difficult growing orchids. It is water retentive, airy and prevents root rots. I used them on my phals and my oncidiums. I repotted a phal in tree fern in April 6th and on May 29th it bloomed and sent out 5 blooms. The only problem it is expensive. You will love it.That lady does not enjoy growing orchid. There is no enjoyment in buying and returning plants. The beauty and enjoyment is to nurture the plant and see them bloom. That is what I enjoyed. Propagating plants. That is how I increase my stock. Beautiful Haul.
You are too funny self-correcting your subject verb agreement! School's out gurrl live it up and have fun. Fuhgeddabout self- control; you be you. love this long story made sorter(haha). Stay real
Hey Melissa, I agree with you about the lady with the orchids. I do feel like it’s a scam and she’s well aware of it. I was told by the orchid delivery guy from my local HD that they no longer sell blooming cattleyas in our area because people were swapping labels from cheaper plants and placing it on the orchid pot..people like that ruin it for others sadly. Now the 4 HD near me only sell blooming phals and bag babies. I’m glad you are still getting goodies.
The nerve of that lady doing that you must of been shocked .🤪so my friend attaches orchid hangers to the porcelain pots and hangs them so I did it too there fine. So you get use out of them.
Hey Melissa, I don't know how in this World there are civilians like that, but the thrush reality is that we have them everywhere. I am not agree with that what so ever 😠. Any Ways!!!! Going back to your Home Deport Purchase I have to tell you that I got two (2) of the yellow one you got 🤫. I also have many Bag Babies from Home Depot and the they are doing amazing in my back yard. Thanks for today's Video.... Have a Great Night!!! ✨️🙏🏻✨️
You know, the biggest problem orchids face isn't the government, it's not climate change, it's not the border, it's the media. Except for Fernwood 2 Night. Now on a serious note, if anyone uses systemic pesticides and media heavy in charcoal it would a good idea to check how much the charcoal will absorb. You might need to use more pesticide. It might not even be on the label, because most soil doesn't have significant charcoal content so it's not an issue for most plants. I don't have personal experience on because I haven't needed serious pesticides yet and I have all kinds of good bugs I don't want to kill, but your local orchid society or maybe even extension agent might have more details.
That's a great point: How much does the charcoal absorb? I wish I didn't have to spray and. I hate doing but if I can find an alternative, I would stop. Thanks for watching.
@@Melissa-loves-orchids It would depend on the particle sizes, how it was manufactured, how much charcoal is in your mix, and which chemical you're using. I don't have my orchids potted and I haven't used systemics so I don't have any more details
Shes those people who say its okay to rob big box stores and etc. At the end of the day, even though Im not religious youre going to be judged and not me by whatever god you believe in.
