This kinda feels like a "passing of the torch". Years ago it was "Orcust full combo" being splashed into everything, and now it is Horus (with the Bystials guest starring)
If they everbring back mermaid I would cry so badly since that was so toxic. The amount of negates you could get was ridiculous and with better cards it would be morr annoying.
I wondered for a second why MBT was reading out the Orcust effects like they were some brand new shitter strategy when this was a tier 1 meta deck but then i realized the last time this archetype was playable was like almost 4 years ago.
The banlists was on 2020 my friend, I don't know how you count your years, but that is not the human metric I tell ya. Orcust was the strongest at the January 2020 banlists as it was then where people started tinkering with orcust sky, the strongest version for the deck. So dunno how "the last time it was playable it was like 6 years ago" ever came from.

Orcust has been a fun option in a few master duel events, but in the current format it feels really underpowered, even with three harp horror in the MD banlist.
I'm gonna be real i totaly forgot photon lord had effects that weren't dependent on having photon/galaxy as material lmaoo. I don't think i've ever used the negate without detatching a galaxy.
People keep trying to run orcust cards like an engine when it should be run as a deck (I have been testing this deck since harps ban). Horus runic orcust or Horus scrap orcust is the wave
honestly, it makes me annoyed that orcust look so long to get unbanned. if they had come off the list a year ago i think orcust could really have slotted well
Last time it did anything in OCG was nearly 3 years ago... Its just not what it used to be. Mermaid made the deck busted and splashable, searchable engine...
Could've come back some time in 2021 when they started lifting restriction on the other TOSS format decks and the deck would've been fine. Instead Konami TCG decided for whatever reason it should rot on the list for almost 4 years... Ridiculous, Orcust felt like it was gonna be one of those archetypes like Infernity where it has cards on the list for years when the deck wouldn't have done anything for a while.
@@fieldoflettuce7091 that format was Fair, they could've kept it untouched and newer decks wouldve started to dominate on their own accord... But we all know Konami is just a cash grab.

@@Rain593 I could see that if Mermaid was unbanned, but its not a searchable consistent extra combo for decks anymore, and there are much Better Midrange Strategies. I could see a small engine in a Tear Deck, but Honestly, it seem like it would be awful draws...
For some reason Orcust doesn’t have any “World Legacy” cards, besides World Wand, that you’d want to search. However, Lib at least is an integral part of the Scrap engine if you play that Orcust variant.
Sadly Girsu functionally can't become a Tuner on your first turn and the only other Orcust Tuner is Brass Bombard. Also adding another garnet seems wack lol
@@ashikjaman1940 Its actually not too hard to make him a tuner really. You can do it pretty easily with Runick and also with Sky Strikers. Pretty much any runick spell lets you turn him into a tuner. Then Hornet drones or engage also let you turn him into a tuner very easily. Problem is then you can't make the token in either of those situations.
As someone who played Orcust in Master Duel at "full" power I'd say its not the best but in a sealed or a day to day friend group duel its one of the more fun decks with lots of interactions and vulnerabilities so more "hype" moments can happen
"Orcust Combo" was never really a full board, more like something you throw up after setting a bunch of Fog Blades/Widow Anchors. Which probably do more nowadays than a single Crescendo or a Dingirsu loop.
Orcust combo into PK rusty gives an extra interruption in fog blade and with the newer rank up you can banish 2 darks to go into raidraptor ultimate falcon using dingirsu as material. Summon ultimate falcon after using dingirsu and other interruptions to at least give you another turn to pop off. Uneffected decent big stick could be all you need in some scenarios to push through some things, plus fog blade is still pretty good.
Orcusts are best used as extenders on a long combo that can bin one of them at the end of the base combo for extra extension and grind power. They're less good in midrangey type decks like this one, and sadly most of the ways to bin a harp are now banned. Maybe some sort of synchro strategy that can make shooting riser wants them now, or if dark warrior ever becomes a thing again they'll be good, but I don't think they line up great with the current meta.
I was GOING to give up on orchard until some yugi-tuber suggested I try to keep reinventing a deck with staying power rather than play whatever is topping the most in the format. It’s a least more interesting than biggis bungis turbo (danger gren maju)
MBT, Try my deck. I tried to show it to coder but he told me I was bad or something. Vanquish Swordsoul. No Mo Ye (thats why Coder didn’t like it I think) Longyuan at 2x Emergence at 3x Jiaolong and Longyuan are both Fire + Wyrm. Jiaolong is a ROTA on steroids for VS. Can pitch her for longyuan. Choose between Barrone, Chengying, Augerine Icejade or Sinister sovereign. Chengying- Combos insanely well with snow devil Icejade - Protect stuff Barrone - negate Sinister sovereign (my fave) Combine his burn banish, With borgers 1500 every standby, plus the longyuan 1200 burn. It comes up a lot and has won me games. Its my favourite SwordSoul Auspice Chunjun. Progides a dodge and an earth attribute in hand. Jiaolong and Longyuan, can essentially make you a way to razen as well, through things like revealing Ash blossom, Longyuan, Abyss dragon swordsoul. Its the most consistent version iv played to get to razen. I dont even use madlove because Jiaolong can search so frequently and easily for ANY VS CARD. You can mix and match your attribute targets all you like but longyuan Emergence Auspice Abyss dragon swordsoul Pretty much do the job as they are.

ive been thinking about this since horus released, but isnt just leaving the 4 guys up with the continuous spell insane? i guess its not consistent enough but everytime i see horus being used only to make rank 8s i think of this
they serve a good wall but they don't really do anything on their own without being interacted with so the opponent can just go full combo ignoring you and then get rid of all ur stuff once they're set up
I don't care if it's meh, I'm still gonna try. Given that I missed TOSS format and that I've always wanted to play Orcust (machine decks are my Jam). It's also the only somewhat relevant machine deck right now that won't make you take out a second mortgage on your home just to play it.
Before going into kuriboh should summon Horus if not 2nd Horus summon is 5th summon if keep token until after Horuses are on field then number 90 is 5th
I just realized this video had the "meta hunter" that's been whining about losing to unfair cards in the Ignis server for months on end now. Unfair cards such as... Imperm. Which wasn't even necessary to beat him while playing Orcust Bystial Horus. Strongest anti-meta Timmy, everybody!
I like Orcust. I think Horus are pretty cool. I don't play either of them because the pure build is not worth running, and I hate when there is not even an illusion of choice.
Yeah, there is. Orcust doesn’t have any World Legacy cards other than Wand, and that’s not a card we want to search. Ib just doesn’t do anything for the deck.
@CountofBleck we do run that in the Scrap variant, but that’s so we can loop Scrap Recycler an additional time. And we grab that off of Lib, since it a lot easier for Orcust to summon than Ib.
@danielhertz1984 Plenty of decks still play a reborn spell, at least as long as it’s searchable. But yeah, OG monster reborn doesn’t see much play outside of being the 40th card in some decks.
