Thanks for the detail video! I like that misfit market is sustainable but I can’t fathom why they use some much plastic? I’m considering it but was thinking that used less plastic (blueberries, strawberries, etc)
I just cancelled my auto-order out of frustration because I couldn't even figure out how to get to the "isles" to shop online. I kept clicking everything, saying what am I doing wrong?! I just gave up. I'm looking for something simple like "Click here to start shopping and build your cart" Nope, not on MY account. Lee
Don't subscribe to them, they won't let you cancel the subscription and won't refund you when you do cancel. It also won't let you remove your credit card. Their site is riddled with problems even though you do everything right.
I started Misfits Markets back in May 2021 and only got it for a few months at the most. I was able to cancel it online with no problem and have never been charged or received an unsolicited delivery. I am just now restarting it.
LOTS of food goes to landfill. In fact, waste in landfills is about 30% food waste, and a lot of that doesn't even hit store shelves. Ordering boxes like these is a great way to cut down on that waste.
@@CocoShin I mean, super markets donate to food banks daily and if it goes bad, then yeah I guess they would throw it out. It’s not because a pear was oddly shaped, though lol. Just went on their site and they sell at pretty much the same price for as if I bought the “organic” versions at my local store. Maybe if where you live it’s cheaper, but as someone from the Midwest, I’d say it’s an ok service. Edit: for context I have close family who works in management for Kroger. It may help waste, but I can tell you this is kinda playing off a marketing gimmick in my opinion.
The majority of food waste happens because of either damages during the transport process or wasted by consumers. It’s true that there is a portion of food waste that is caused by stores throwing out unattractive food but it’s not the most crucial element.
@@Questioneverythingx That's what I think. But it came in handy once for me to send some food to relatives in Idaho in midwinter. So it's just a matter of making wise choices... said the 🦉🦉🦉 owl...
@@wandering2320 That is not my understanding of industrial food waste. There is a lot that goes to waste for many reasons: size and shape, quantity, etc. most food waste happens before it even hits the store shelves!
I know how confusing it can be. Check with your local municipality to see what they accept. Once you get the hang of managing the waste, it's really easy. You might learn more about how to recycle or compost other waste in your household too!
