I will say that as an Oregon State fan since I was about 8 years old (half a century now), never have I seen, before or since, Oregon State play a better half of football than they did that Thursday night in Corvallis. It's not as if USC was fumbling away the ball or making silly mistakes. OSU's line play was simply dominant on both sides of the ball. In the second half OSU hung on for dear life and made the plays necessary to win the game. A special night for Beaver fans. By the way, from 2000 through 2010 Oregon State beat USC four out of five times at Reser Stadium. I bet Pete Carroll has nightmares of going to Corvallis to this day.
My godfather is a pretty big U$C fan. I remember him saying, in this game, that Oregon State’s running backs were so small the Trojan defense couldn’t find them all day long.
