Husky fan here. At the end of the year, UW, Miami, and the Beavs were the best teams in college football. All three would have beaten both OU and FSU. Of course I'm biased, but the Dawgs were the most deserving of being #2 and playing Oklahoma. We handed both Miami and OSU their only losses of the year and Florida St lost to Miami. All in all, the BCS was a joke and I'm glad it's gone.
@@AaronStark1993 I always forget that Washington beat a really good Miami team at the beginning of the year. Miami was sort of forgotten about the rest of the year but they won the rest of their games. Also Washington's 1 loss was to a really good 2 loss Oregon team at Autzen. So it wasn't like their loss was any worse than Florida St losing to Miami.
@@AaronStark1993 The top 3 of the Pac 10 was really good that season. I feel both Oregon State and Washington could have beaten Oklahoma. Also Oregon was really good but they had this weird loss at the beginning of the year to Wisconsin. Wisconsin was ranked number 5 in the country so when an unranked Oregon team almost beat them it seemed like a moral victory. The problem was Oregon ended up being a top 10 team and Wisconsin lost a lot of games afterwards so that ended up hurting Oregon compared to Washington and Oregon State who were undefeated in the non conference. I felt the Oregon State vs Washington game at Husky Stadium was the true national championship game that year and it felt more intense then the actual national championship game. I feel like Miami was on Oregon's level. Which sort of foreshadowed Oregon and Miami being the two best teams the following season.
@@zeaferjones1404 I was at that Oregon Wisconsin game. Oregon had every chance to win and dominated statistically. I say all three Oregon Washington and Oregon State were deserving to be in a playoff that year.
@@zeaferjones1404 Another conflict (and reason all three were at the same level) is that it was a three-way loss the way Oregon beat Washington, Washington beat Oregon State, and Oregon State beat Oregon. Despite Oregon’s loss to Wisconsin, they belonged in a playoff by beating UW. Miami only lost by five points to your team at home, making them equal strength with your one loss. There should have been an 8-team playoff that year with the UW, OSU, Oklahoma, Florida State, Miami, Virginia Tech, and two “wildcard teams” with two losses-definitely Oregon, and maybe Nebraska since their only losses were to undefeated Oklahoma and #16 Kansas State by only one point.
Husky fan here. OSU dominated the Irish; it was a butt kicking. Washington, Oregon and Oregon St were the 3 best teams in the country that year. Each one had one loss to the other team and that was it (maybe the ducks had another loss). Would really like to see the Pac 12 get all the speed back again across the board for all the teams. Hate the SEC but their better teams are really good.
Great job, I had this game on VHS and watched it for years after, tape broke and I hadn't seen it since, thanx for bringing back some good memories! Another great one that I just can't get enuff of was the following year when we didn't even make a bowl bid, the 2001 civil war, jonathon smith, Ken simonton, James newson, nick barnett, Mitch meeuwsen, Kyle roselle, Noah happe, James Allen, Kirk kintner, Cole clausen, all their last game in a beavers uniform. Even though it was a loss it was such
What a season to remember 👌 looking back from now beaver basketball doing well in 2021 mach madness, another cinderela story 🙂 O S U oregon state fight fight! go beavers!!
ND fan. This was by far the best team that year. I didn’t realize how good Oregon st was. I thought we had a chance. It was just like Miami’s old team with D E . This was a great team
Thanks man It pissed me off that nobody had any highlights of this game so I searched till I found a copy of it and bought it and made this video...Go Beavers!
I loved the all black uni's in 2000. What was even better was the celebration after big play or TD when one player put his hands up and other players around did a police pat down.
yup I bought this on DVD and put it in my PC and decided to make a highlight video of if because I noticed I couldent find any footage of this game anywhere so I made it Go Beavers!
This was the most amazing Bowl Game that I ever watched except for the Notre Dame vs USC Rose Bowl Game in which Anthony Davis won the second half. I think that The Oregon State Beavers could have given the National Championship Winners a Good Game in 2000-2001 season. Their Offense thanks to TJ Houshmandzadeh and Chad Johnson were the best and their Defense caused more Turnovers for Notre Dame in this Game. The Sugar Bowl and Orange Bowl Game that year featured the Best in College Football, but this year, perhaps this team may have been able to compete with the other top 4 Florida State, Florida, Miami or Oklahoma. One of my Brothers best friends who works in Tallahassee Florida said once that the top 3 teams in the Country are in the State of Florida. Ironically both him and my brother went to College in the State of Ohio! Lol!
thanks man I noticed that nobody had highlights of this epic historic beavers game this is such a historic game for OSU so I look for hours on the internet to find someone who had a copy of this game and I finally found someone who had it so I bought it and I thought It would be cool if I put some highlights together it pissed me off that I couldent find footage of this game anywhere on the internet so I made this video. check out some of my other videos GO BEAVERS!!
I really hope so too. I think it's doable for O State to get to Oregon's level. Can't believe we lost by 3 to WA and 4 to Stanford this year. Ducks & Beavs both blew their wad late this season.
I thought people would enjoy finally having some highlights on here I was going to upload to whole game on here but that would have taken too long and parts of the game would not upload so I made it smaller. Go Beavs
Yeah OSU was so good that year it was amazing. They definetly could beat Alabama. Hopefully they can get a rose bowl this year and get some good recruits and get to oregons level
Bama way better up front than this Oregon St team. Even 9 years ago when you made this comment. If you are talking about 2001 Bama then you'd be right but that's it
@@TheBeaverskickass I hear ya. This Oregon St team could of definitely beat Oklahoma or Florida St in 2000. The natty would of been them and Miami if there would've been a 4 team playoff then
Thank you so much for taking the time to find and upload this epic beavs victory! I was only 7 years old at the time and the only thing I remember is my family screaming and cheering like crazy that night. Is their any way we could find the whole game anywhere? Or if you could tell us where you found it?
Yeah i agree. I was only 4 during this game but I know almost everything there is to know about OSU sports. I really think they could have beat nearly any team in the country that year. But hey 6-0 right now feels good....Hopefully 7-0 tomorrow.
This was the best team in the country that year and would have beat Oklahoma or Florida St. in a national championship game. They had swag and knew they were good. If only that damn kicker wouldn't have missed the FG at the end of the game against Washington in Husky stadium to lose by 3. Washington was a great team that year too and won the rose bowl, so they could just as easy same the same. OK was weak that year and Washington or O state should have played Florida State.
I was at this game but missed the opening coin toss and heard that Seigler made a funny comment when asked if we wanted the ball or not. I didn't know if you had the clip of the coin toss or knew where I could find it? Thanks
I remember before this game the Frito-Lay company already had crowned ND the winner and they played the ND fight song in their Tostitos TV ads which made fun of Hare Krishnas. Well KARMA is a beyotch.... I was ecstatic as OSU stomped and ripped ND to shreds. Erickson had his "Miami North" squad playing 110%. A Classic!!!
I agree they only lost by 3 points and if they had won they would have played for the national championship and they probobly would have won it too! . Go Beavers
still have fond memories of falling out of my chair laughing, spilling beer all over when Beaver fans started chanting "RUDY! RUDY! RUDY!" in the second half.
Fuck dude I thought the same thing after that lose last week. It sucks because in 2000 OSU lost to UW by 3 points also just like last week. Fuck that sucks but hey lost time OSU lost by 3 to UW in Seattle they went 11-1 so maybe that will happen agian
R.I.P. Tevita--precious life, Much Luv... Yall big universities with yo nose in the air are so lucky that these highlites are not in color and HD becuz the azz-whipping looks so much better.... Oh yeah I did not forget how we had some ND alumni broadcasting the game live and calling us Thugs. Saying, we didnt deserve to play the great Norte Dame and also trying to look down upon us for having junior college transfers on the great OSU football of 2000... Quick and agonizing stat--- career record against the great Norte Dame is 2-0... That is a known fact!!!! Our juco players got up in that azz as usual and I surely do miss those black uniforms and the beaver logo becuz Nike do not make them how they used too... Nowadays I do not know if the school logo is a sonic da hedgehog and the uniforms is so busy and distracting; I do not know sometimes if I am watching arena or Canadian football... We need more solid and plain colors on our uniforms, maybe that would give the new Beavers more Heart and Determination to play 60 minute football... I have been watching lately and it is not a pretty site at all... Keeping it Real and Much Luv... Da Real #21 at OSU
The new Beaver logo is a nutria on Valium, another casualty of the p.c. bullshit war on common sense. Dennis Erickson recently (finally) admits leaving OSU was one of the biggest mistakes in his coaching career. We've never been as good since he left. Riley came close a couple of times with the Rodgers brothers from Texas, but UO was too much by then.
