I started fishing when I was 10 after that I couldn’t look at any deep pool of water or see any spot with fish without trying to convince my dad to stop. Stopped at a hole similar to this on the side of the road just trying to catch trout ended up hooking in a 25lb chinook salmon it was legal and i put him back. I’ll never forget that Okuma Cascade spinning combo.
@@lilyannadenn2709you know we don't tell where a honey whole is. You have to explore and hike and fight the brush to find places. Still a lot of them out there. I found a new place last month. But not telling about it myself. We work to find places like that. But then, he could be fishing in a place he is not supposed to either.
My god, one of the most beautiful holes ever. Reminds me of a spot on elk Creek in PA. Shale bottom that would just drop off. I remember getting 6 fish in 6 drifts at one point, must have caught 30 on the day. Best trip of my life
@@jacksclabassi4209 I'm glad you know what I'm saying. But with gas and license cost it's been well over 10-15 years since I crossed the border from Ohio. I will say on average the fish I caught over here tended to be bigger but Elk will always have a special place in my heart. The first time we went there was because of us trying to find fishable water, I'll never forget my dad's friend showing us Trout run. As a 13 or 14 year old kid I was mesmerized. And if we are talking about the same bridge spot I was told they put a damn parking lot there. Smh
Nice, nice and nice! I grew up on the Olympic peninsula, summer head have always been my favorite, especially in September with the shirts and low water.
@@antoniobaker2902 I’d say Oregon or Washington. Salmon runs aren’t like they use to be tho, NorCal back in the had so much salmon running through but logging screwed up the rivers to where it’s just mud runoff
@@MatveyMotion ok sure. The little north fork of the santiam river is one of my favorites spota. First park is great hole. Fall creek east of Eugene is great and the McKenzie above leaburg dam. The Salmon river is great that is near mount hood east of Portland. Nestucca river!
@@MatveyMotion I love the Salmon river. It's about 45-60min drive from Portland. It's much smaller than the Clackamas or Sandy which are both good but bigger than I like. The Salmon is near Welches by Mt Hood. I also like Gales creek at the gales creek park near Banks. It's real small but fly fishing I've caught real decent brook trout there. Also the Wilson river is near there and can be fished for Salmon part of the year. If u wanna just catch fish Dormon pond up there by Banks always has trout and huge bass! I had a huge bass eat a good trout on my line feet from bank. Scared me to death!!!
@Curran Johnson weed is not a good thing. It may be a past time or whatever but I'd hardly call it an activity. It's boring. Go rot on your couch. What a dumb comment.....
Ayyyyyyyy must say, as many oregon rivers as I fished and as diversified as they are, I can always tell a good location by the water, terrain and growth! OREGON 💪💪 HEYSEANNNNNN
Is Oregon a welcoming state? Looking to buy land and build a home and want to be in a state with vast fishing choices but I do worry some southern states get weird
Usually like here in Oregon when you’re closer to the mountains the waters really clear since the snow melts and pushed everything down river. But I could be wrong, like the sandy river is fairly murky and it’s like 30+ miles from mount hood
@@bigFellaT This could very well be the Molalla river which is exactly like this with a Hugh 4 seasons runs of salmon & Steelhead . Right now where the Molalla River meets the Willamette River the Coho are stacked in like in a hatchery holding runs . The boat ramp on the Willamette R to reach the mouth of the Molalla R is a park in Canby Ore. Once a boat is launched at this park the Molalla R is 1/4 mile up the Willamette R . Year round this is a hot spot to intercept Salmon or Steelhead or take a jet boat up the Molalla R to some of the real hot fishing runs not accessible to bank fishing. I have offered guided fishing here the Molalla R and through the Pacific NW since 1976 .
