I am a subscriber from Lynn's channel... I saw the previews from hers and I had to come see. I am now sorry that I have waited so long to join you and your family on your journey. Xander... well he won my heart, he is so ADORABLE! Beautiful "wedding" - thank you for sharing!
What a lovely reception! I so much appreciate the simplicity & beauty of it all over so many weddings that I've been to where the women are wearing short, short skirts & many men are in jeans!
When I saw the picture of you with Xander on a restraint I wondered if you would receive any negative comments about putting your child on a "leash". I am an old lady and my grandson is a grown man but if I had a little one, in today's world, you can bet your bottom dollar I would have that child restrained for his own safety. Sorry, but there are just too many crazy people out there and a child can break away (or be taken away) unbelievably quickly so I applaud your taking this step to keep him safe. I have been following Lynette's videos for several months (isn't she a sweetheart?) and I am glad to have been directed to another Mennonite mom. I am not Mennonite but I enjoy watching your videos and watching how you raise your children and because I am pretty much housebound I especially enjoy watching your DITL videos where you or Lynette get out of the house and go thrifting or traveling or to the beach or the park or go out to eat or whatever. I'm glad Lynette told us about your videos. BTW, Xander is a real cutie pie!
thank you! and so honored to have you here! Glad you enjoy following our lives! No negative comments yet, but they get away from you so fast and in a busy airport like that, I had to have something so I knew where he was. It scares me to think of losing a child in a place like that! thanks for the encouragement!
Sometimes a restraint is just the safest way regardless of what others might think. I am in my 70s but I remember how one of my brothers would wander off. Mom used a restraint and always knew where he was.
@@theMennoniteMom Hi Jeannine - I also had put my children on a leash , we saw this often in the 1980s or 90s ... my children do the same with their kids ... but now people often give you a side eye - they are a bit stupid - and the first who cry for safety when a child is lost ...
Really enjoyed this video! Thank you! Xander is such a sweet little boy! So love to watch him! God bless you! Hope you felt good on the rest of your trip! 😊
I just lived this vlog. Absolutely beautiful footage. That’s a lot of work!!! Your life as a Mennonite looks so peaceful and not so burdened by the world. Love it.
Thank you! so glad you enjoyed! It is peaceful in a lot of ways but we still have a lot of stress and burdens and pressures like anyone else. It comes with living here on this earth! (:
I came from Lynette's channel and was immediately impressed with your video and editing skills. You are so down-to-earth and seem to have a great outlook on life. I liked you right away! Looking forward to seeing more!
Fun trip! Xander captures my heart ❤️ every video, he’s just so precious! Yes, Fort Collins is gorgeous! You are so funny and immensely relatable, Janinne. The same type of crazy things are always happening to me. The sleeve... mine was a pant leg I was tryin to put a sharp crease into... ended up with you lovely hole! Polyblends will do that. Thanks for sharing this video and taking us along on your journey. Continued blessings to you and yours ❤️
Loved your video and I came here because of your collab with Lynn :) Your little boy is adorable, loved experiencing your trip through his innocent eyes :) I just watched your Mother in law video, it was so hilarious and so well done. Thank you for a super laugh. The comments were not working so I came back here!!!
I'm not surprised you were flagging by the time you got to Boise! I was exhausted just watching - certainly packed in a huge amount of fun and lovely family times. The wedding looked just lovely.
He is talking so much more.. wow.. Airplane ride.. LOL, bus rid, the cars.. LOL. wow what a beautiful view.. so gorgeous.. God's creation... so awesome.. love the smiles on the people and all.. everyone was so happy and caring and giving of themselves to make the bride and groom a special day.. Love you guys.. God bless you
I truly appreciate the reverence for the ceremony. Weddings have become such "shows". If couples put as much into the marriage as the externals of the wedding we might have happier marriages. Many blessings on this couple.
I agree with you some weddings are like side shows to see if you can out compete or out spend the next guy. Weddings should be more reverent for the occasion they represent. You're still just as married whether you spend $thousands on your wedding or not. 👰
What a lovely wedding! Thank you for sharing it with us! So simple, pretty and elegant. Your son is adorable, and he is so good! Great video. (Sorry about your dress, I have done the same thing!)
Wow! Nice to be able to visit with your brother! Son is having so much fun! Great that your brother can work from home. Thanks for the info. Beautiful country. Lovely wedding.
@@theMennoniteMom Thank you, glad to be here. Live in El Dorado, it is about 20 miles from Louisiana line, there is about 19,000 people in my small city. Will be here for the next blog.😆
Omg! Starting at 2:22, your little one is the most adorable boy! The innocence of that child when he said "airport cars"... bless his heart. What a sweet boy and sweet family you have! New subbie, Cheers!
Jeanine, thank you for sharing such a wonderful experience. So beautiful, simple and meaningful. Xander is growing so fast, soon to b ed talking your ears off. You might consider getting a toy crane for Nolan as he sure did seem to enjoy playing with it. ;)
I loved this!! You just do such a good creative job with your videoing. Like sending the camera thro security. :) Xander is so cute in his wedding outfit and I LOVE how you do his hair. So fun to see Jen and Jason and Carson!... a couple times, I went back 10 seconds to rewatch them. :) Looking forward to Part 2!
thank you! I was hoping it would pick up more, but guess it was too dark! LOL. Glad you enjoy! I love having you here! Yes, Jase and Jen weren't around very long! So I have them on the next vlog just a bit and then they are gone! (: Have a great day!
Love y'alls videos Jeannine...this was such a treat to cyber travel with the family❣ Love the collab with Lynette...I'm now subscribed to her as well. Xander is absolutely adorable! I love weddings! Lovely reception!!! Bless my new cyber friend!!!
I just love watching your little one, and his enthusiasm for the next big adventure! Your family is full of talented people, and the wedding was simply beautiful!
Thanks for taking us along! I'm always interested in seeing other people's customs and I love seeing you guys doing anything! Xander is talking so well I could mostly understand him. He's growing up mom! It's also nice to see weddings where the women are dressed modestly. Just beautiful! And you're looking very thin these days. Are you still on your diet? If so it's working very well. You're an inspiration to me! See you next time 🤗🌻
I'm glad you enjoyed! Yes, he is growing up! I keep wishing he would slow down!!!! thank you! I've been losing a few pounds. It's going slowly. (: I'm on a restricted diet, yes. and I also often end up going for long periods of eating due to my health issues. I feel better when I don't eat. So that helps, too. (:
@@theMennoniteMom it's bad you have that condition but helpful in losing weight. I've been recently diagnosed with diabetes so I'm watching everything I eat. So far since May I've lost 20 pounds. Hopefully I'll loose more but it's hard to give up certain foods! I ate a chocolate chip cookie today, the first one I've had in a very long time! If I just get a taste of what I'm craving then I'm not doing too much damage. Then behave myself I'm good 😉. My numbers have gone down a lot. Take care and I hope things get better for you. Prayers always 🙏
this is my first time. I was sent from Lynette . My hubby and I live the simple life by choice. No we aren't mennonites. But from watching both of your videos. we do alot like you. I'm up North of Seattle on a small farm. I see both of you ladies wear a covering. BUT at the weedling all ladies were wearing a white bonnit and were you wearing Green just for the wedding color? I really like your little Zander what a cutie. and I can see why you had to contain him in the airport. I have a friend that has a 18 mo. old and he is so fast... and I'm old... :) I just turned 69 yesterday the 16 of July. But even his Mom says he's fast. Great video. I'm glad Lynette told us about you. Hazel
welcome! so honored to have you here! Hello to Washington! Mennonites choose various different ways to cover... no significant reason other than tradition. Yes, green was part of her wedding colors... (: Happy birthday! Hope you felt celebrated!
I absolutely LOVED watching this video.. Little Xander is so very adorable. Sweet little man.. I am glad you guys had a good time.. I hope you have another video really soon. Oh and I am already a subscriber to Lynette Yoder.. I enjoy her videos also.. It's nice to know that I can come to youtube and find CLEAN, DECENT God fearing people to watch... I don't have to worry about bad language or inappropriate comments or scenes.. May God continue to bless and keep you and your precious family.. ❤
thank Mary! So glad you are here! and yes, I love Lynette! She is such a sweet and caring person! I've enjoyed getting to know her since I've joined youtube! It is nice to have channels that are clean to watch. I agree with you! God bless!
Visiting from Lynette's channel. So sweet she brought inspiration for you to take the plunge to go RU-vid. You do very well by the way with it. Your son is so adorably cute. Enjoyed his excitement and verbalizing what he knows. Your brother's (I think it is) bat boxes so interesting.Thank you for sharing the trip and reception all was really lovely. Was so unfortunate about your dress and the whole ironing situation.. however you certainly handled that well. Our prayer~ Joy and long life with their new marriage Father bless them richly as they begin together♡ sweet peace♡ thanks again for sharing have a beautiful rest of the week♡
You are an absolute doll! Life throws the silliest little speed bumps our way when the pressure is on, but the Lord provides us grace and it only adds spice to the chapters of our life. Thank you for sharing real life with your youtube family...you are an inspiration and breath of fresh air my dear!
thank you, Sarah! I'm honored to have you apart of our little community here! I'm honored and humbled that folks enjoy following our journey through life. God bless!
What an awesome time with family! One of our daughters lives in Greeley,Co. not to far from Fort Collins! We love spending our summer vacations with the grandkids and being in Colorado. Love watching Lynette as well! ❤️Safe travels!
Thank you Janine (and to your family) for allowing us to enjoy scenes from the beautiful wedding and reception. They stir and renew us to a fresh new outlook for marriage. The receptions seem very similar to our Indiana Amish brothers and sisters. Zander seems he’s going to be a great traveler/explorer with you both.☺️
Loved the video, Xander is a great little traveler! I had never wondered what it looked like inside the bag scanner but thanks for the behind the scenes view, LOL!
Seriously a beautiful wedding peek thanks for sharing. Your sweet boy is so cute. His expressions are truly the best I have ever seen. Your ironing mishap can happen to anyone, but I can identify with how frustrating when we flub up like that. Pretty color by the way.
Loved your video! There is definitely an elegance to simplicity. All you ladies at the wedding were so calm and serene. Is it a Mennonite custom to take up a collection for the bride and groom? Overall, I am truly impressed by the lack of ostentatiousness. Too often nowadays, brides spend $3-5k just on a wedding dress and guests try and outdo each other on the gifts they give the couple. I definitely like your way better! By the way, we have Dutch Bros. Coffee here in Sacramento CA and outlying suburbs. They are great folks. Whenever there is a fundraiser, like recently when a female police officer was killed in the line of duty, Dutch Bros. gave $1-2 per drink, on a particular day, to a fund for the family of the fallen officer. I was raised in Washington state and still have family throughout the Pacific Northwest. I always feel it is God's country when I visit. Thanks, again, for your video.
Yes, dutch brothers is a great company! really like them! and thanks for your thought out comment! Yes, weddings can get expensive, and we are still human and struggle with the same things... but it is nice to keep things simpler. Guests bring gifts (I didn't have a video) and the collection isn't a custom. It all depends... often the groom will be the one that takes up a collection if anyone does (: Have a lovely day!
Jeanine, I love your videos. You are really a wonderful person. Thank you so much, for all the beautiful impressions you share with us. My best wishes to you and your family. Gaby from Germany
Hi Jeannine, such a lovely video. You have such a wonderful family and your little guy is soooo precious! Tks to Lynette for sending us here and I am a new sub, tfs
OH my gosh, how lovely! Thanks for the beautiful video. Look forward to the next one. You looked so pretty in the green dress, sorry the iron messed up!
What a sweet beautiful wedding. Congratulations to the bride and groom. ❤ Sorry about your dress Jeanine. I think you looked totally amazing anyway. 😍 Xander - Awwwwwwwww! Happy little camper. 💙 The tradition with money in their shoes, what does that mean? 🤗❤ x
Glad you enjoyed! and thank you! It made me a bit grumpy for sure! The money in the shoes? I don't know. I dion't think this is a mennonite thing. If you google it, "passing the boot at a wedding" I think it's an older tradition. Just a way of passing the hat for the couple for a little extra spending money on the honeymoon!
Oh I’ve done that to a dress or two in my time, you still looked great. What a beautiful trip that was, and such an adventure for your little man. Thank you for showing us the wedding, I really enjoyed it. I have seen some videos of Mennonite weddings but not the more conservative side, very special indeed.
What a great family trip! Xander is a wonderful child and he is lucky to have amazing parents that take him on hikes, let him ride the escalator ten times and help him explore the world! Awesome!
Very lovely...enjoyed the scenery in the mountain shots...the room being decorated for the reception and the lovely reception too. What a beautiful day they had and many wishes for a happy healthy life together. Have a Blessed day.
Awww....sorry about your dress. I know how you feel...”why me!?”.... Oh well.....the dress looked very pretty on you and in the video, I couldn’t even see where it was a little damaged. Very pretty color on you. Leave it to Zander to have a seat in the airplane and instantly figure out how to unbuckle his seatbelt and buckle it back up again! Little Houdini! All in all, it looked like a beautiful wedding. Thank you for the video. Can’t wait to see part 2! 🙂
thank you! I do like green (: but it was a real pain about the sleeve. Yes, it didn't take Xander long to have that figured out and I'm sure annoy all the passengers around us!
Thanks for taking us with you and letting us see what a Mennonite wedding is like, I meant reception. Your dress still looked pretty. Everyone looked so nice. I love your videos .
Zander is so very smart, he knows a lot about the plane. Colorado is so beautiful I’m Glad u got to get away with ur family for awhile. Idaho isnt so bad either the scenery is peaceful. Hope u enjoyed the wedding, I’m sure u and ur family had a lovely time . Zander looked very handsome. Thanks for sharing💕👍🏻
Loved seeing this. Her decor was lovely. The melting of the sleeve is just like what I would do. The shoe thing I’d never seen. My niece is getting married in October. Maybe we should do that.
Yes, you'll have to! Catch the groom and bride, steal a shoe and pass it around! (: someone did it at our wedding except they didn't take our shoes. The extra cash was really nice for our honeymoon. such a nice gift!
This was a breath of fresh air. Im a new subscriber from Lynette’s channel. I’m from Oregon and the travel shots where a blast from the past. Thank you. I know you will get this question a lot but can you explain the difference between the women’s hair coverings? I’ve been obsessed with Amish and Mennonite my whole life. I think it’s because I have always wished I could live a simple life with less distractions. An the food!! Lol Thanks again for sharing.
welcome! so honored to have you here! Glad you enjoyed! the coverings are mostly tradition. some wear the cap style (traditional) others wear more of a cloth/veil type. Nothing significant besides tradition.
NJ Family Thank you for the explanation. I understand now. I watched your Q&A and I understand now what you mean by traditional. I look forward to watching more videos. You and your husband are hilarious.
Sometimes while watching your videos I have to giggle, your Jeannine moves are sooooo something I would do :). My daddy's nickname for me was "Grace" because of some of the things I did. LOL Glad you had such a good trip! Looks like Xander really enjoyed it too. God's Blessings for you and yours.
Congratulations to the bride and groom! Looks like you had a wonderful time, thanks for sharing. We are flying to Oregon for a wedding in September. Plane tickets are pricey 😳. Lol
I'm just now getting to watch this, I've been dealing with some health issues myself. I'm so glad :you were feeling well enough to go to the wedding. The reception looked beautiful, so did the bride. What does passing around the shoe symbolize? We live in Colorado Springs right inline with Pikes Peak. We're in the middle of July and its just now that all the snow from the peak has melted. Have a great day and God bless.
I sympathize with you on burning the sleeve of your dress. I remember burning a hole in my favorite skirt when I was 17 or so, unfortunately the skirt could not be salvaged. One way to avoid scorch marks is to iron a garment inside out. You can also use a piece of lightweight fabric, you place it over the area you need to iron and then iron over the 2 fabrics, this way if your iron is prone to scorching it will scorch the fabric instead of the garment you are trying to iron.
