Looks more like "This Ain't The Oresteia: A XXX Parody".

The full staging is definitely not an XXX Parody - it's Peter D. Arnott's line-by-line translation. For example - the language Clytemnestra uses when she describes how she killed her husband is deliberately sexual - even orgasmic. These lines are often omitted in translations of Greek dramas because of censorship in the U.S until 1960. The Greeks had a different attitude towards sexuality ... before Christian guilt and an XXX mindset.

Is it just me, or is this video unnecessarily creepy?

The Aeschylus Oresteia - the original story - is creepy. Clytemnestra plans a murder for 10 years and then pulls it off. The whole first chorus is filled with foreboding - everything she says seem pleasant but also hints as something darker - so "yes" creepy, frightening, disturbing, menacing, uneasy...

It's no Book of Mormon, but still quite good.

It's 500 BC - and tells the story of the end of vendetta and the birth of trial by jury - so if it entertains at all - that is high praise indeed.

Playing the part of Pylades in a play next week, trying to get a feel for the character!

How wonderful to be able to take on that role - and deliver that famous line. It would have been a surprise that Pylades talked at all - like Cassandra. Aeschylus enjoyed playing with audience expectations and surprising them that way.
