She is a bad girl! She is one of the very few players who plays the organ the way it was meant to be played. Playing lead lines on the upper manual. Chords on the lower manual. And bass lines on the pedalboard. I congratulate her and give her credit for that.
I didn't know of Barbara Dennerlein two months ago, but RU-vid tossed a video with "Farewell to old friends my way" and I've been bingeing on it since then. It's the one with Keller, Messina and Spiegel. (Pls not that there are two variants present on RU-vid, the later/recent one being of much better audio/video quality.) I've searched for, and found, other videos with her, but while good none has been as great as that one. For some reason RU-vid has kept THIS video from me for two months, but this one is the second best do far. (The audio suffers from the acoustics of the room, and the drummers crash-symbal is way over the top.) BUT.. That first harmonica solo is remarkable! (And do have a look at the drummers facial expressions both during Dennerleins intro and that harmonca solo 😊).
