Sup dudes?
So normally (for like almost 10 years), I post guitar hero content, but I decided to do something a little different today and briefly cover a concept in organic chemistry.
Stereochemistry deals with the relationships of molecules that have the same connectivity of atoms, but different arrangement of atoms in 3D space. In this video, I (attempt) to cover enantiomers, which by definition, is a molecule that is non superimposable on its mirror image.
This is typically covered in first semester organic chemistry class, and in my 5+ years of tutoring experience, tends to give students the most trouble since visualizing atoms can be very difficult.
I want to be able to teach chemistry in college someday (preferably organic chemistry), and I will start (hopefully soon) my masters degree in the Spring of 2021, and once I graduate, I can apply for to be a chem professor and start doing the thing I enjoy most :)
This is my very first video, so it's not the best, but I could follow along with what I was doing upon re-watching the video. Let me know if I should keep going with these videos, and if there's any topics you would like to see (i.e. more stereochemistry, mechanisms, synthesis problems, individual reactions, etc.), though the topic has to be within my knowledge level haha.
I will also try to work on the lighting situation in future videos (my room isn't the best) Thanks for tuning in!
