Organize Card Stock & Scrap Paper From This To That HD 1080p 

I am a paper hoarder too. Well, at least I was in the past. A few things that really helped me were: 1. for my solid color card stock I used hanging file folders in a filing cabinet with a job ticket holder in each folder. Each folder and job ticket holder was labeled with the name of the specific color. (I do Stmpin' Up! except for white, black, and vanilla from Hobby Lobby). I file those in Alphabetical order because when I need a color I know how to find it. I used a We R Memory Keepers 3x4" rounded corners punch and created a swatch ring with one of each color. On the front of the card stock is the name of the color done with Cricut vinyl. Then in the bottom corner with a sharpie, I wrote in the product code number for easy reordering if I need to. 2. For my 12 by 12 scraps, I use a 4x6" photo storage box. They come with 16 individual boxes in one bin. The bins are easily portable or stored on my shelves. I can pull out just one little photo (aka scrap) storage box at a time or the whole thing. These come in clear or I also have one that is rainbow-colored. I use the rainbow-colored one (you guessed it) to sort patterned paper by color. I use the clear ones and cut my scraps to 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" this will then work for any A2-sized card I want to make. Then If I need a card in an instant, no worries, I know where to go. 3. For my full-sized 12 by 12 sheets I use the cropper hopper bins. I lay them on their long back side. This makes it easier to see and thumb through what I have. 4. Lastly, I use a photo storage box from Michaels (the non-plastic kind) to make up a few card bases of my most commonly used colors, to have at the ready. I sell most of the cards I make or at least make them with that intention. So, I am constantly thinking of storage. I also use these same photo boxes along with clear sleeves that open from a website called Clear Bags, to store my completed cards sorted by genre, until I am ready to put them in my card carousel at my monthly market booth. Yes, so many scraps. I have a plastic three drawer unit that I put small scraps in. The top drawer is for patterned paper, the second solids and the third for black and white. For bigger pieces I try to keep them with the pad they came from. Loose papers I put in another three drawer, larger unit. I agree, it is a real struggle. Once in awhile I try to purge them.

You are definitely in the same boat with paper organization as I am. Its driving me crazy, bc I have a ton of 12x12 like you from my scrapbooking days. I just got rid of a 33gallon trash bag of scraps and 12x12 paper pads that I was never going to use. I was able to downsize and stash the paper nearly away and it was so freeing. I can get to my paper easy now and know where everything is

I use the corrugated file holders from dollar tree.. work great for me, thanks for your idea

I like it as Design C that works so smooth and keeps it dust free. Your 8x8 setup is great 😊 as well. Tabs work great for seperating colors bc you can see the colors by a glance.

Give your children a piece of paper {typing paper}, glue and all the little pieces of your left-over paper to make their own crafts. If you don't have children, ask neighbors who do have children if they would like it for their children. The first time I did it I gave a bottle of Elmers glue and a few pieces of typing paper to get them started.

I actually have the same and will definitely take some cues from this video to start riding myself of those small scraps that’s been stored for a very long time. Can you please share what are all of the plastic sleeves you’re using for storing your papers. Thanks for sharing. I like “A.”

With every card project I start with looking at my scraps first. I also will NOT purchase 12x12 paper & I won’t even look at it bc it is just difficult to store and a big plus is I really avoid using any print paper - period. I might change as trends change but I push myself to use embossing folders, stencils, ink blending and other mediums for backgrounds down to just paper layering. For me I just find it exhausting to search through stuff so I really try to keep my craft supplies organized & use them or donate.

A TIP, I have one set of folders / bags for plain /solid coloured papers and a second set for anything patterned. I find it quicker to find what I need and it doesn’t take much extra time to tidy into two piles. To be honest, I do this for papers and also card stock! I have also used plastic sleeved/pocket folders and loaded scraps into those in rainbow order (ROYGBIV). That take only a small amount of space and hold lots of scraps. They also store vertically. If I have a lot of one colour scrap, especially white, I just use two pockets in a row. I have separate folders for paper and card stock. I hope this helps someone. 😊 The initial sort takes a bit of time, in front of tv but then it’s quick and easy.
