Emma, there's something I've been wanting to say to you and a few other RU-vid creators for a long time. When people tell you that seeing a notification pop up with your channel name makes them happy, please believe them. I think it’s because you are incredibly brave. We all have our stuff to work out but you have the courage to do it in public. That gives people like me the will to do it in whatever way we have. You've been brightening my days since the video when you were anxious about telling your family you had a RU-vid channel, back in spring of 2000. I'm grateful for you. And by the way, your hair is so pretty today!

EMMA!!!! you're about to go through SO much! i'm so happy for you (and for us). so, please, continue this series!! i'm actually really excited for your video on the selection, cause it's like the worst thing i've ever read. i had a lot of fun with the first one, but couldn't get through the second one. it's just SO bad..... couldn't handle it. so like i'm excited to know what happens when you tell us, but also it's fine if you just dnf it, cause no one deserves so much bad writing

I only remember liking both the Silver and the Ruby Red trilogy by Kerstin Gier but I read them when I was like 12/13😅 That's almost ten years ago now so I understand what you mean with them being quite juvenile. I'm also just now getting into the ACOTAR series and omg I didn't expect to enjoy it so much✨ Much love xx

I got book series fatigue from when I was a teen, now I read mostly stand alones so imagine my surprise when I realized that I'm actually in the middle of 4 series lol Anne of Green Gables, Percy Jackson, the Neapolitan Novels, and Foundation (to be fair, I am enjoying them, maybe I'll slowly get back to reading more series)

Ok, so, I made the same comment when you read this book, but I still think the same: I love Books of Babel! And if you continue with the series, I think you will, too! The second book is much more dynamic and we start to follow other POVs (I love all of them), and while the plot and themes may seem haphazardly woven now, it will all click as you learn more about the tower and the painting. I think you should at least read on till you meet Byron (half robot half deer butler, he's in the second book, and I think you'll adore him).

I love these update videos, they feel like catching up with a friend 😊 I know u don’t need anymore series but I just have to recommend the finishing school series by Gail Carriger. I read it in middle school alongside those spy books by Ali Carter and my desire to go to boarding school skyrocketed lol. No one I know has seem to have heard of them, but they’re steam punk (not too much I promise) middle grade series w urban fantasy of vampires and werewolves w a cute romance and just a cute silly fun time (it’s not serious in the slightest 😂) with ur reading taste u would either love it or hate it and I’m sooo curious to see where u fall.

Emmie you talk about Fantasy a lot and how it’s something really fun to fly through for a good time and escape from anything dragging you down, well I know you are much more of a book reader but I really want to recommend you my favourite manga, Berserk, it’s quite possibly the most acclaimed manga, it’s usually ranked number 1 in most manga websites as the best and for good reason in my opinion, it’s a dark fantasy but don’t let that scare you, it has its dark moments as it’s set in medieval Europe so it stays true to its horrors at the time but it has its light fantasy elements too and loads of comedic relief, honestly it’s a very epic whilst also human story and it’s been my favourite for years. If you ever feel like trying out a manga series that’s long but truly worth it for all the emotions it brings, start with Berserk. I also want to preface the first arc throws you into the future but in the second arc it begins to explain and answer questions with the backstory. PS I shouldn’t recommend a new series but I just have to 😭

I DNF'd Senlin Ascends after the first book too - just two slow and all the encounters seemed too arbitrary to make a satisfying trilogy. So glad you didn't get rid of The Raven Boys, though - I absolutely loved the whole series, plus the follow-up trilogy as well! The audiobooks, in particular, are really great. Yes, please on doing more videos on those! Also, I was inspired by your previous series tracking video to do this myself (thinking, 'oh, I'm totally on top of all my series and there aren't that many!') - there were 33, I'd only made progress on 13 in the last year, and there were six I hadn't touched in over five years (am I ever going to pick up book 8 of Malazan after an *eight* year gap when I can't remember anything about them and they're all about 900 pages long???). So, yeah, officer, I can explain...

I also had a slightly underwhelming experience with Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries, but then I read the second book and I enjoyed it sooo much more somehow. I feel like the characters had more depth and the storyline was more engaging too. Don’t give up on it!

The english translation of most Kerstin Gier books is terrible, so no wonder you DNF'd two series haha. I DNF'd the Selection series after book 1, because i didn't like any of the characters and i can't stand those bachlor-looks-for-a-wife situations.
