I just found you and I want to see more of your videos.! I wish you had shown the actual braiding. I am challenged as a new stitcher!!

This is genius! It even works when you double the thread length in order to use the loop method to start.

Brilliant idea to use the floss tag to hold the floss. Thank you for sharing!

Omg, this is genius! Thanks for sharing your ideas with us. I’m new to cross stitching and I hate the bobbin thing and floss drops are ok, but still seem to messy. I have a cat and need to keep my floss away, and i have been keeping them in their original skeins in a pencil box. Can’t wait to try your method!!

Good advice! I inherited a LOT of little cards if DMC when my mom passed away. I can't wait til they're gone & I can start storing thread more this way.

Just an fyi, for anyone looking for the rectangular clasp (assuming it's what I think it is, since it's hard to tell with all the floss on it), those are called stitch holders and can usually be found in the knitting section because they're normally used with knitting projects.

This looks amazing! I can't wait to lay out all my supplies and try it this weekend. I've tried so many different ways of organizing but nothing quite fit my style. I think this will do the job! Thanks for sharing :-)

What about leftover but still usable floss?

Do you tie anything around the bottom of the braid to keep it together?
@meredithwalters7499
@meredithwalters7499 Год назад
No. The braid holds it well and you can more easily pull the strands you need. I recommend trying it to one of yours and seeing if you like it first.

Great video! How many colors can you fit on the rectangle clamp? Most my projects have 80 + colors. I currently have each color in a snack sized zip lock back in a giant box and I share colors acrossed projects. I.e. do not "kit up" patterns. Thank you for the video!

I get 15-20 on it. It works for most of my projects. Maybe try a few but have them in a color pattern so you can easily find what you’re looking for? Thanks for the comment and for watching!❤️

Great video! I’ve never cross stitched before. What is the best way to get kids interested in starting? What types of projects would be good for beginners?
@meredithwalters7499
@meredithwalters7499 4 года назад
troyjhinkle The best way for kids to start is to get them a simple needlepoint kit. You can find these at any craft store. Once you get that down, a small pattern with few colors is the next best step!

hi, nice video. I tried to follow your instructions but when I pulled the thread it messed up the braid.
@meredithwalters7499
@meredithwalters7499 3 года назад
Did you pull two strands or the whole 6 strands? Sometimes it pulls a few more with it but I will fix all the braids at the end of my project. I find this method cause less knots and tangles for me.

@@meredithwalters7499 I tried to pull 2 strands and it was a mess.
