Orient’s direct competitor to the Seiko 5 is the Orient 3 Star (also referred to as Tri-Star or Standard) line of automatic watches. The 3 Star line is a basic dress style watch with simple automatic movements - many also feature unique dial colors not seen on other brands.
The case is constructed of a stainless steel alloy to help ensure its durability and long life. It features a combination of polished and brushed surfaces (mostly brushed) which gives the watch a little personality (even though it’s Orient’s budget option). Orient could have easily made the entire case either polished or brushed to save time and money but they went a step above and gave it some character.

Here in Brazil the 3 stars were always very popular (still now in 2019), because it's cheap and here the purchasing power is low. I won one on my 15 birthday in 1991 and it's still working.

@@kazifaiz yes, they still in production, i just bought the white dial model, its the same family model... the difference is only on the dial color

I just bought the light blue dial. I was immediatly sold after I saw this review. The picture from the site that sells this model doesn't do justice to this wonderful shade of blue. Also, it was the only one that was not on sale and I bought it full price. Totally worth it.

I love Seiko and it's probably my favorite brand, but for some reason I really hate the Seiko 5 series. They're ugly and look cheap. My Orient 3 Star is one of my three dress watches and I love it! In my opinion, these are one of the best values in the watch industry. They're beautiful and high-quality, but the bracelets are terrible. They look great on a high-quality leather strap.

The cases look similar to Seiko SNXS, do you know if the lug opening is the same as the SNXS? There is an aftermarket solid jubilee bracelet available for the SNXS, I am now wondering if it’ll fit the orients 😊

Si lo comparamos con un reloj basura chino es buen reloj pero para las personas que estan acostumbrados a la alta relojeria suiza es un reloj de bajo nivel relojero las partes y componentes de estos relojes se fabrican en china para el caso es lo mismo es basura
