This is a special tutorial! I agreed to make this tutorial when the channel hit 10,000 subscribers and here it is! This tutorial also includes a full pre-creasing guide and the collapse for the DPA base version which translates to the other versions as well (Sword-DPA, Spear-DPA)! Very nice model i have folded 2 each from 70x70 cm tracing paper but they cannot stand properly due to thin paper

@@OrigamiByBoice Thanks! Hurricane Milton passed recently and luckily, no one was harmed (except for the trees). Btw I designed my own simple spikes for the chest, legs, and hands. Edit: Can you make a classic type of origami like a old timey looking design? It's ok if you don't!

Hello Boice - as always this is another exceptional model, bravo 👏👏 Do you allow me two questions to ask? 1. When i look at the CP, there are a lot of creases (mainly ridge level shifter) that are slightly off the grid. How do you draw those in your programm? Is there a tool for it maybe? 2. Another packing question. This model has a lot of details along the limbs. Do you need to modify the flaps for the details while packing, or are the details all added when you convert your packing into a CP? I can only speak for myself but i think it would be super interesting to see the packing of a model with that much details to understand the thought process behind. Anyways nice work, thanks for sharing the tutorial with us :)

Hi Randy! Great questions! 1. There is a tool I use called Oriedita. It has features to draw lines at specific angles. The ridge shifters are 22.5 angles so I can use the tool to quickly draw them in. Check out some of my design live stream recordings to see that tool. The plant psychologist also has a full tutorial on it as well. 2. I didn't design this model with a proper "packing" approach. I moreso started with the details and fit them into a grid via free folding and checking. If I were to design this again using a proper "packing" approach. I would take the armor details and understand how many "flaps" are needed to add these and then use that flap length/amount in doing the full packing for the model. If you catch one of my livestreams, feel free to ask this and I will give a packing breakdown on this model.

Amazing on how much patience you have wow. This is an alsome origami peice that I would like to challenge. I don’t have double tissue sadly so is it okey if I use rapping paper instead?

Thank you! I don’t think wrapping paper will survive. I have tutorials for making double tissue however! Or if you can find thin kraft paper, that will work as well

About the paper, if you compare it with greaseproof/baking paper would it be almost the same? Also, do you recommend that paper for complex origami?

baking paper is very different. That is more of a machined paper. I don't recommend that for complex origami. It is good for testing and learning but it can't replace the benefits of hand made papers. If it is all you have for now, you can use it but seek to learn to at least make double tissue.

@@OrigamiByBoice Thank you, I tried doing double tissue with silk paper (your page redirects an amazon page, which in my language (spanish) tell that tissue paper is silk paper, if I'm not wrong) and CMC (because I don't have MC available in my country, and amazon prize is pretty high for the low quantity), but unfortunately, it releases some dust that makes me cough while folding, as it seems to be a bleeding paper. Because of that, I bought some baking paper, as it allowed me to do a deer from Satoshi Kamiya before... So, can you please help me with another online site to buy MC and try again?

@@OrigamiByBoice Ecuador, but yeah it's actually difficult, 'cause I've tried searching online a lot for a local shop, but there's nothing hahaha. But just got an idea, aside the MC brand you tell in your guide, which others your recommend for treating paper? Oh, I also found a wallpaper glue which says that contains MC, but I don't know what else it has, so I've not tried with it yet (even the cost is high...) And lastly, do you know which treatment should be used with glassine paper?, 'cause I tried to do a double tissue with CMC too, but it screwed worse than with silk paper, as it was impossible to peel of the glass table, and it was tearing in every part :')

The question is "Is this tutorial only able for dragon armor plate assassin?(I meant... 32×32grid one) Is it possible for dragon armor plate assassin with sword version??

Hi Scoral! Greetings to South Korea! This tutorial shows the 32x32 grid version, However, the Sword version is almost exactly the same as the 32x32 version except that the sword will form from one corner instead of on the back of the Assassin. If you need help understanding how the sword works, you can watch the Dragon Knight tutorial for just the sword and hand since it is the same sword.

Hello is it fine jf i were to use tissue foil instead of double tissue for this model Also is it easier to make double tissue or tissue foil or double tissue foil

I don't recommend tissue foil. It isn't flexible enough to shape and fold. Double tissue is easier to make than tissue foil. You need to be more careful with foil and need proper glue. I have a good tutorial series for double tissue.

For practice you can use smaller paper and for a final fold, larger thicker paper can make for nice shaping

Watch my ultimate paper guide. I say what mc is there. To do the sword one, get good at reading crease patterns (check my playlist). Then it will make sense

News paper has a chance to work but might tear. Hanji roll will be good once treated (follow my ultimate paper guide). I would watch my paper guide series and read my paper blog first. Links are in descriptions

I am not familiar with Bond paper, if it like kraft paper and a bit thick, it should be ok as long as you use 50x50cm + I would skip face shaping if its too thick and just make a plain face with the hood.
