I taught the same thing when I saw the thumbnail

The finished model ends up two-toned when such paper is used. For example if paper with color on one side, white on the other, is used & if you start with white side up, the finished model will have white under the wings next to the body (ecxcept the tips) & from the waist down, front side only.

I usually tape a piece of metal wire inside a leg and I shape it to make a round base

@@Metrorac It's a bit old, but in case it can help anyone : I usually take a paper clip, bend and/or cut it in a shape that I can stick with white blu-tack on one side to the model, and on the surface. I try to find a spot on the model where the tack and the paperclip won't be too visible, typically on the back of the model, behind legs, wings, etc.
