Wow 😍 what an incredible pheonix. You are a huge inspiration for me as I want to get into designing complex origami. Thank you so much for the tutorial 😃
Some crease patterns are a bit too difficult for me just to figure out, like your hex pleated scorpion, which was easy to collapse but i didnt know how to make the triangular grid, so i printed the cp and made it with printer paper and it turned out nice. This was another thing i was struggling to make, so i made this with printer paper with the cp printed, turned out more like a dead bird than a phoenix and it was incredibly thick due to the gsm of printer paper, but i was still happy with it. But now, i can actually make the phoenix properly with good large quality paper rather than printer paper.
Hi! Yes I clarify in the video the minimum paper to fold. Most of my models can not be made with printer paper. I am glad that you will be able try this one with good large paper!
@@OrigamiByBoice I might, it might be beyond my capabilities though... Anyway, I'll be getting married first, the preparations for that will be taking up a lot of my spare time... Maybe right after I finish that darn time machine!
Hey Boice this paper that your using. does it consist of 2 papers in one or is it just folded in half because it's really big. By the way i really appreciate this tutorial! this phoenix does look very detailed! .
The paper is a gradient yellow orange. It is the same gradient on both sides (Its the only orange tissue paper i could find at the store). And it is indeed very large. Around 80x80cm
What is the best paper to use for this model that isn’t double tissue and doesn’t require treating? I just don’t have a surface large enough to make that size of double tissue at the moment.
There is no paper that doesn't require treating that is large enough. And if there was one to exist it would probably be super expensive. Watch my make large origami paper video to find a way to make larger papers with a smaller surface
Im gonna use 50 x 50 because otherwise i dont get papers bogger than that. As always, only 10%of each square in the grid is gonna go. Each square will be a little larger than a cm. Thats ok for me
Hey Boice would 50x50 cm shadowfold work for this model? I know its a little small but I love this model! Also would color I start with the colored side or white side up?
Hi, It would be a bit small but I think it will still work. You might need to use some glue when shaping to manage the layers instead of just wet folding. The crease pattern on the website is color side up.
Wowwwwww! 𝕆ℝ𝕀𝔾𝔸𝕄𝕀 𝕴 love 𝕪𝕠𝕦r 𝕆ℝ𝕀𝔾𝔸𝕄𝕀 tutorials! 𝕴 even made 3 guns! 𝕴 enjoyed ȶɦɛ part when we do ȶɦɛ bottom part of ȶɦɛ gun 𝕴’m planning to do an 𝕆ℝ𝕀𝔾𝔸𝕄𝕀 BNW too 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I honestly thought nothing could get more complicated than kamiya's phoenix which I just finished folding and then this pops up on my recommended. Really speechless by how beautiful this design is and I can't wait to fold it. I would rate it higher than kamiya's phoenix
